Review summary

Great cruise! Disappointed with a few days of weather but obviously completely out of anyone’s control! Love Royal Caribbean!

Embarkation

Got there early and basically walked right on! Rooms ready by 1:15

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
I have always been very happy with food from Royal Caribbean, then again I’m not a huge food person so don’t get to worked up over it! Drinks were great! I pretty much only got them from the Casino / Casino Bar since I have prime status. Was happy so could at least get a decent beer in Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (usually an IPA drinker). Otherwise happy with the brands of booze.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I attended very few activities on board, like the casino!

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My daughters (14 and 12) loved the teen activities! They disappeared every night at 8 and usually at lasted till about midnight! Made new friends and loved the planned activities!

Service and Staff

Always top notch service on RC! Mike, my casino waiter was a rockstar! Tip him well!

Cabin / Stateroom

Loved the back of the ship and the large oversized balcony! Plenty of room for family of 4!

Ship tip

Older ship without the whistles and bells of the newer ones, however I think that keeps the children away! I love the smaller ships!

Ports of call

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Did a excursion to Maya Key, a private island near cruise port. The island was beautiful but again no sunshine and we dealt with light on and off rain showers. The island is home to an animal sanctuary! A lot of neat animals. As a surprise we got to have an animal experience which turned out to be the highlight of the day! After not really knowing what we were getting into we signed waivers and off we went into the monkey cage to feed the monkeys! Highlight of the day! Only negative of island was Beach was not the best

Cozumel, Mexico

Day pass at the Allegro Cozumel! Very happy with our choice, we were there first week of December and it was not crowded at all. Included food (average), beverages (no booze until noon), an hour of snorkeling equipment (good snorkeling right out from the beach). Amenities and grounds were beautiful.

Belize City, Belize

Did a snorkel tour to the reef and then time on Starfish Island! Great excursion but unfortunately weather was not ideal. Cold front had just came through waters were a little rough out on the reef which made snorkeling tough for my kids at times. Starfish Island was very nice just wish we had some sun!

Tampa, Florida

Loved the downtown area, stayed Friday night!

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Maya Chan Beach Club! Best Taco Buffet ever! Service over the top! Just go!!! (If you are a Law Enforcement Officer bring a patch to hang on the bar! I was bummed I didn’t have one)

Disembarkation

Long wait but as expected, RC crew did well but rude people make things worse!

Allegro Cozumel Mike the header waiter in the Casino! Awesome service! Tip him well! Animal Experience at Maya Key, hands down don't touch the monkeys! Keep the Chips and Guacamole coming! Balcony had two full sized loungers, and table with two chairs
