Review summary

All and all this was my 38th cruise. There was nothing spectacular about this cruise other than getting away and spending quality time with my husband. We met very nice people and are looking forward to another cruise this coming March on the Adventure of the Seas although we do love the smaller ships!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was fantastic - walked right on the ship!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Dining room food was ok - only went on Lobster night! Did not visit any specialty restaurants this cruise and the buffets contained a lot of nothing food - same foods just cooked 10 different ways :(

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
In enjoyed the fitness center -did not rock climb or visit the spa

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Still wish that cruise ships would bring back the good old steel drum bands - enjoy listening to them while in ports and by the pool. Stage shows were just average - no wow factor.

Children's Programs

No kids are grandkids on this cruise with us.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
I would give our room stewart a 5 star but everyone else was either at the end of their contracts or just weren't feeling this cruise. Didn't see anyone going that extra mile. The Diamond club had fantastic bartenders but there was one that was so monotone that he stole the good mood right out from under me!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship for being as old as it is was well maintained. Didn't appreciate all the scraping that they were doing while in the ports of call - drove me nuts while I was in my stateroom but understand that maintenance is important. Ship design was the same as most ships out there - not too confusing!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This cabin was great. Had the window to look out and was in close proximity to most things - I always use the stairs and not the elevators so it was extra workout for me to get to food - which I appreciated!

Ship tip

Enjoy yourself and know how lucky you are to be able to cruise! Don't take anything for granted!

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Love Cozumel and we did the Cozumel Bar Hop Excursion this cruise - was fantastic - a little expensive but worth the piece of mind!

Belize City, Belize

4 out of 5
Belize City was like every other port - demanding and pushy shop employees - but nice to walk through - different than my last visit in 2002.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

4 out of 5
Port was under construction and it was raining but all and all it was the same as all the other ports - demanding and pushy shop employees bartering for you to buy their stuff...

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
Costa Maya is beautiful - again the pushy sales people but enjoyed walking around and looking at the upgrades since the last time I visited.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Disembarkation was horrible!! 2 customs agents working to get over 3,000 people off of the ship - luckly was able to use the porter service to expedite departure!
