Review summary

If you are looking for a fun and exciting cruise with fewer small children, then this may be what you are looking for. This ship does offer some activities for children, but not like the bigger ships. Also, it is a great investment to buy a drink package. It will save you in the long run, especially if you like adult beverages.

Embarkation

We had a great experience with all of the crew being very helpful and providing wonderful customer service. The excursions were professionally ran and maintained to our highest standards. The ship was kept very clean and sanitary the entire trip. There was always something fun to do on the ship during sailing time with good shows, comedy acts, music concerts, games, trivia, etc. The Rhapsody of the Seas is a smaller ship with less people and offers much in the way of entertainment for adults of all ages.

The spa experience was fabulous! The hot tubs stayed open until midnight which was a great way to unwind after a long day.

Entertainment

The comedian was great! The shows were enjoyable and professional.

Children's Programs

We were not traveling with children.

Service and Staff

We had an excellent waiter in the main dining room that went above and beyond for us. Our room porter was also wonderful and always kept our room clean and ready for us. They were both very pleasant and easy to work with in meeting our requests.

Cabin / Stateroom

There was plenty of room and storage space. Our room also had many mirrors on the walls to give you that feel that the space was even more roomy and open. We didn't feel closed into a tiny box like some rooms without mirrors.

Ship tip

Take advantage of booking your next cruise while on the ship. We saved over $1200 on our next cruise by booking it while on the ship and you can choose any of the Royal Caribbean ships and any destination.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida

George Town, Grand Cayman

This port was our best experience. We did our own thing at this port which was easy to do. Check out Calico Jack's if you get the chance. This was our best beach experience with calm, clear waters, white sandy beaches on 7-mile beach, and friendly people. This port uses tenders to get to shore so pack as light as you can and be patient.

Cozumel, Mexico

Easy on and off the ship at the pier. Great shopping in and out of the port, however, when shopping outside the port, make sure to use cash in the exact amount so carry small bills with you.

Belize City, Belize

This port also uses tenders. We did a snorkeling excursion of the barrier reef so we did not see the city. Instead, we went to Starfish Island which is a private island and had a good time.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
This is a very clean port with lots of shopping. We didn't do any excursions here, but there is a free pool area with a swim up bar, waterfall (manmade), and great service. The pool is a great way to cool down after shopping so wear your swimsuits.

Disembarkation

It was quick and easy, but we left early and prepaid for transportation to the airport through our travel agent, however, there are plenty of buses and taxis available for more personal transportation. Next time, I may choose more personal transportation to the airport as the buses sit and wait until they are full before leaving the port.
