This was my fourth crruise with RCI and I had high hopes. On the morning of the third day, I slipped on a large area of water on the floor. Landed very hard smashing my coke cup. The area was completely unmarked. After being helped by other passengers the crew officer that witnessed the fall suggested I see the doctor. At first I thought I was all right but as
I got to my cabin and the adrenalin wore off I realized I was not ok and I called the doctor. I was met by a male nurse from South Africa that seemed very bothered that I had to be there outside of there posted hours of operation. The doctor came and was extremely nice but could only offer Tylenol or ibuprofen neither of which I can take. I received a call from someone that offered a WiFi package until I told him I already had one. I spent four days mostly laying in bed and the rest of the time moving very slowly with extreme limits to distance. My spouse and I cancelled our excursions due to my pain and poor mobility. None of the events relating to the slip and fall were of my making. I talked to two staff members at the help desk and was told he could (just for me) bend the rules and offer me 30% off my next cruise. I would get a letter in a day or two. I was completely dissatisfied by this offer and to make matters worse, the letter stated only 20%. So, loss of all cruise enjoyment and 5 days of severe pain do to staff negligence somehow = 20% off a cruise that I must take within 12 months? I can’t in good conscious recommend RCI to my friends and family with this level of concern. This is my second attempt at
resolution and I am hopeful Royal Caribbean will do the right thing.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Embarkation was a bit unorganized at sign in but went smoothly once on board and baggage delivery was prompt.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The main dining room food was fair. Our table had to send food back multiple times for being actually cool or as in the day lobster was on the menu, mine was like mush and had to go back. Otherwise the food was hit and miss. The windjammer experience was better although hard to find a table at times. The specialty restaurants were the shinning jewel on the ship as the food was great through out the four nite package we purchased. I was disappointed to find out the captains table was not included in the specialty food package. Very misleading on the web site. The service was very good in all the restaurants as the crew were exceptional which is why we try to choose the smaller ships when we cruise.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The spa was very good although pricey. My wife had a pedicure while I had a massage. Both were well done except in both cases they tried hard to get us to buy there products on top of the usual costs. I had two acupuncture sessions that saved the cruise for me after a fall in the windjammer. The acupuncturist was from England and was excellent.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Saw only one show I really liked and that was Bill Cook the magician. The music acts were mediocre at best. Noted decrease in entertainment choices since last cruise on the Rhapsody.
Children's Programs
No children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Room attendant rm 2627 was the absolute best. The waiter at our table 114 was Lloyd from the Philippines was also excellent. We never had a complaint with the service staff and found them all to be gracious and caring.

Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Very clean and well maintained but the beds were horrible. Found out there were mattress toppers available but too late to help as we found out from a passenger on the last day. We woke up sore and slept poorly due to the beds. The beds alone will keep me off this ship in the future.
Ship tip
Don’t expect much help from guest services on anything major. See comment under summary.
We elected to self disembark which was a new choice for us. Everything went smoothly except they had us drag our bags through the dinning room like a maze through the tables and chairs. Poorly planned and very hard to maneuver but still way faster.
