We enjoyed this cruise, but think that going forward we will prefer a larger ship.

Food and Dining

I wish the buffet was open longer hours. After our Costa Maya tour we just had to get on the boat, and the buffet closed 15 minutes later. We were starving! The only choice we had was to eat at the sandwich place at the adult pool area. I would have liked to had more choices during those in between hours....you know in case you slept late or had a late running tour or whatever.
Izumi Japanese Cuisine

By far our favorite meal on board. The food was amazing. Our server, Greg, really helped us choose from the menu as well. Not to mention the views! Izumi has the best location on the ship.
Onboard Activities

We enjoyed ourselves, but would have like more activities. The games in the centrum were a highlight. Always hilarious! We enjoyed the trivia and went to karaoke every night pretty much.

Service and Staff

Elmer was our dining room waiter, he was fantastic. We loved our bartenders Marius and Monica at the Schooner bar. Also Christian upstairs at the Viking Crown. Phil was our room steward and he was always smiling and very helpful with whatever we needed.

Cabin / Stateroom

I was not expecting the Ritz or anything with out inside cabin, but this one was so small and very poorly laid out. On one side of the bed you had to climb over the corner of the bed to get in, because there was no floor space to walk around it at all. The dressing table was directly in front of the door, so if say your husband were to answer the door to your father in law one morning, then you would be on full view in your undies because the door opens to a large set of mirrors. We don't spend a lot of time in the cabin on a cruise, but we would not do an inside cabin on this ship again. We would just pay the extra for a balcony.
We did the Pub Crawl and even though it was pouring rain the majority of the time, we still had a blast. I only wish it hadn't been bad weather so we could have explored the shops as well.
Here we did the Tale of Two Cities tour. It was meh. Not bad, but nothing to write home about either. I think we will try something like the cave tubing if we are ever back in Belize.
Glad you enjoyed your cruise for the most part! Many other cruisers have mentioned not having as many choices, features and activities as you get on the larger ships, too. Inside cabin too small? Yup, did an inside cabin on our first large ship cruise so it’s been balcony state rooms from then on. Sounds like you had great service on board, though. We are looking forward to our cruise on Rhapsody in December. Knowing she’s an old ship from 1997 and knowing she’s one of the two smallest ships in RCL, we booked solely for the itinerary having visited two of the ports on a previous cruise. We’re thinking this cruise will be kind of ‘old school’ for us without as many of the bigger ship features. Thanks for posting your review and here’s to hoping your next cruise happens sooner rather than later!
