Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Quality of all food was excellent. Eidelweiss dining was superb great food. Chocolate cake was better than my Grandma's and my wife discovered crem brulee. Good available at Park cafe was not as good. Buffet was beautiful, plentiful, culturally varied and delicious. The included food service hours were insufficient (could have been open earlier & later.)

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
casino, spa, shows, art auction, scattergories, pool, hot tub, informational sessions... A bit disappointed that many of the "activities" on board were ultimately sales pitches designed to get folks to spend more money. And Elvis Pinto was mean and much more catty than funny. Bingo was ridiculously expensive... $30/ card. Natasha was wonderful, sweet, kind, helpful and offered loads of practical advice for excursions.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
First comedian was funny -ish. We didn't like the times for shows were changed the last few nights of the cruise & due to our 8pm meal time we missed the shows offered at 7 & 9pm the last two nights. The RC dancers & singers seemed very well rehearsed and the shows were sweet if a bit campy. Hypnotist was really cool. The music in the Centrum was fantastic every night.

Children's Programs

We were not travelling with children Will not allow me to select N/A

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Dorla Walton (room steward)... pleasant & friendly. Had to ask repeatedly for basic toiletries. We loved the towel elephant. She did a great job cleaning, preparing the room. Aeysha (waiter)... complained consistently. She is a glad half empty kind of human who should maybe consider something other than the service industry. She frequently asked questions and then walked away before we could respond. She made several mistakes with orders (brought potatoes instead of rice, etc) Forgot to celebrate my wife's birthday. Lots of hard selling to try the other not included restaurants as well as food on the menu that cost extra. Also told us strongly for the last 2 nights at dinner that we had to fill out her review positively. Not a relaxing presence during dinner. Ilija (waiter/ sommelier) extraordinarily sweet. Very helpful & kind. We only had to tell him once we were sober and he never offered us alcohol for the rest of the trip. He was Johnny on the spot refilling water glasses and even jumped in a few times to take orders for & serve for Aeysha who was MIA. He was pleasant, professional and seemed very knowledgeable about the booze judging from the reactions of our dining companions. He never neglected us despite or sobriety... smiled when we arrived, pulled out our chairs, placed our napkins in our laps and immediately filed our water glasses. He anticipated what we might need and brought it before we even asked. He is a great example of service... give that man an award!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Was very impressed by the acoustics that we couldn't hear what was happening in the casino while we were in the theater & etc... true all over the ship. It was decorated beautifully with artwork. VERY happy to have a kid free zone in the pool/ hot tub... fantastic idea.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was wonderful, beautiful and spacious. We were thrilled with every single element except for the 2 beds pushed together. Surprisingly the beds were still very comfortable, our a/c worked great, the vanity & all the little cubbies were cute and functional. You must find a way to latch the beds together so that during the night folks who are couples don't end up in the great divide between the beds.

Loved the iguanas. Carlos our guide through Tulum was funny, knowledgeable, kind and made an extra effort to get to know us. Fish tacos were yum (our first time trying them)! The Caribbean sea was breath taking.

Beautiful healing Xaman wellness ritual - can not day enough how amazing this was. It was the highlight of the whole trip for me. Delicious included lunch. Enjoyed snorkeling with stingrays. The proximity of the ship was very nice.

Sounds like an overall good cruise and a very objective review from someone who is really there taking it all in. We’re looking forward to our cruise on Rhapsody this December. Thank you!
