Review summary

We really enjoyed this cruise. The staff was amazing and really went out of their way to make sure our vacation was perfect. The music was great, and the captain did a great job of modifying his course according to the weather.

The buffet was great, (except the biscuits and gravy, that needs a lot of work.) The workers were super and the choices were very good. The Edelweiss was fair. Portions were small, food was not very flavorful, and often not hot. (One person at our table was served raw fish.) Our waitress, Tetianna, tried hard, but the assistant needed a lot of direction, and while he was cheerful, he was virtually impossible to understand and often interrupted conversations to ask if we wanted bread.

Main Lounge

The music, Beta 4, and Hott Sands were absolutely amazing! We danced to Beta 4 every night. They were so talented and made us feel like we were all at a big party. The staff was also exemplary. We had 2 waitresses that stood out, Mary from Romania was fantastic! She always recognized us by name, was very friendly, and brought us our drinks quickly. Lore from Romania too was attentive and lots of fun. Reisleen the bartender was excellent!! She also knew our names and preferences and always made us feel like she was so glad to see us. Her smile lights up the room. Jerou (sp?) the bartender was helpful, friendly, and not bad to look at. (so my girlfriend says.) Overall, all the staff was great.

Onboard Activities

We did not participate in a lot of the activities, but other people seemed to be having a good time. Casey the cruise director seemed like a lot of fun. The comedians were hilarious! The shows were ok.

Entertainment

Beta 4, and Hott Sands were great. We enjoyed listening and dancing to them every night. They get 5 stars!!! The shows were ok. We enjoyed the comedians quite a bit.

Everyone was cheerful, helpful, and seemed to enjoy their job and wanted to do all they could to make our trip very special.

perfectly adequate for the trip. Actually a little bigger than I had expected.

Ship tip

Listen to the music. The Windjammer is as good or better than the Edelweiss and times are flexible. But if you drink, definately get the drink package. And be aware you will be charged gratuity for cabin stewards separate from the package.
