The Rhapsody of the Seas is an old boat. The crew works hard and long hours. it's not a ship to sail on if you are looking for new and exciting, its more sedate. You will pay for almost everything you do on ship. Look at your bill constantly as you will pay gratuity on everything, not that the people serving don't deserve it, but how about letting me decide. There isn't much to do on this ship other than drink cook in the sun and spend money, so if thats your thing and you don't have high expectations, this is a boat for you.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
The cruise left without us in Venice, due to issues in connecting through Charles De Gaule.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
You will pay for everything. The food is ok, not spectacular, you will not walk away amazed as you do on some of the larger ships.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
I really didn't see too many onboard activities. And the ones I did, not many people were participating.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The entertainment was equal to talent of a high school venue. Not that the high schools don't have exceptional talent, but these could use a little more polish.
Children's Programs
My children are older
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
The staff work around the clock, and are friendly except for the long dark haired girl at customer service. I think she might be just plain unhappy in my opinion. I rarely saw her smile, and she was constantly on guard, maybe she has customer service burnout.
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
The ship's design is old 1970 las vegas last act. Which is not bad if your not looking for new, sparkly and exciting decor. Just remember this is not a newer ship, it is not going to have the amenities of say something at least 10 years old.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
You can tell the cabin is old, by the furniture and fixtures. I was on the 7th floor and still could hear the engines and the loudness of the karaoke mike from the 4th floor.
Ship tip
I didn't take this ship for the ship itself, I took it for the islands. If I could have found a different cruise line to go where I wanted, I would have chosen them first.
Corfu is lovely. We found this shop where the owner's son does spear fishing, he is world known and we purchased a beautiful shell that came from 150 feet in the ocean. This is a must see.
Take the athens, museum tour, hopefully you will get Consta as your tour guide. He is island born and knows a lot of the Greek culture. You will love him!
Get up early and walk into town. The streets a picturesque and the small town lovely. There is a jeweler here in the middle of town, he has a pandora sign, but don't let that stop you. He has a lot of handmade Mykonos jewelry and his prices are great. He will do anything he can to make your visit memorable. This is a thumbs up visit.
Argostoli is nice, there is a bike shop about 3 block in the middle of town that is run by the owner George. You want to talk to him. He knows a lot about the area and rent a bike, You will see more.
