Excellent food and attentive staff by janetmcdonalds

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regatta / Destination: Caribbean

The food.  We would recommend to others---at a different time of year.  Rocky seas, cloudy weather.  Cocktails and wines very expensive---overpriced for international waters.

Great itinerary- best food on the seas by rmurray

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regatta / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Widely varied itinerary. Superb destinations desk (thanks Antonia and Luis!). The food is "over the top"!  The superb performers have great personalities and love to stop and talk.  We were honored to be guests of the staff captain and environmental officer for dinner- very gracious.

Great Cruise by pat92101

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regatta / Destination: North America

The Regatta is a wonderful ship.  The cabin service is superb.  We had great meals and had a choice of five locations.  The service in all dining locations is top notch.

The whole staff is helpful.

We we had great food, all sorts of wonderful choices.  The desserts were great and the afternoon tea should not be missed.

The captain was wonderful as was the cruise director.  The communication was excelltbe.

canada is wonderful and we had perfect weather throughout the trip.

I highly recommend Oceania. It is a cruise for adults, no children were onboard.

This is was our 7th cruise on Oceania and we have two more booked.

The Cruise by randykg528

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regatta / Destination: Alaska

We were both very pleased with the cruise, all of the amenities, the crew, the food and entertainment, after seven great days on the cruise, we had to wait 5 hours at the Seattle airport for our flight back to Los Angeles, (Oceania booked our flights) that was a bad ending to a great cruise!

Upscale service, food, and talks. by lindahikes

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regatta / Destination: South America

We were very impressed with the service on Oceania.  My special dietary requests were handled the very best ever.  We enjoyed the fish dishes and tried to have some daily, either at lunch or dinner.  Don Klein gave very detailed talks about the Amazon and that made the trip much more interesting.  I would encourage people that are between 60 and 85 to choose Oceania.

The ship is beautiful. The food was very good, from the Terrace Cafe to the Main Dining Room. We enjoyed the Polo Grill immensely. The staff was amazing. They could not have been more attentive and friendly.

Personal review by weilmarianne

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Regatta / Destination: South America

The itinerary was excellent.   The lectures were superb.   Unfortunately there was a ship health issue which seemed to dominate the crew's time and attention.   Missed the social activities of cooking demonstration, gatherings for captain's party, party for frequent Oceania travelers, afternoon tea served in Horizons etc.   We will check number of sea days on future trips.   This cruise had too many for us particularly with the extra day when we couldn't land in the Falklands.

Lima-Buenos Aires 2016 by cbolte3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regatta / Destination: South America

Oceana Marketing Department missed opportunities that would have elevated sailors satisfaction substantially. Cruise Director was given no leeway in doing anything special, e.g., hiring a local Argentina couple as one evening's entertainment to demonstrate dancing the Tango. This was easy to do and would have cost minimal.

Oceania Cruise by mhz1023

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regatta / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Our first 2 cruises on Oceania we had VERY positive experiences.  On this cruise we were very disappointed with with the service we received in the bar and at the Terrace Cafe, and a couple of times in the main dinning room.  The first 2 cruises there was someone always topping off your coffee, water, or even carrying your food to the table at the buffet.  The service was definitley lacking on this trip.  Although I am not a big drinker, when I am paying $10-$11 a drink, I would expect a better pour, NOT an exact shot in a large drink then filled with a mixer.  If  you want a "drink" they will offer to pout 2 a double, but also charge you.  We were also disappointed with the excursions offered in San Diego,  We thought we were going to the SD Zoo, but we noticed that it was the SD Zoo Safari.  Most of the guests on the excursion thought the same thing.  The bigger problem was the safari was an hour away and the coach did not pick us up until 12:45.  The park closes at 5.  We barely had 3 hours to be in the park when the excursion description stated we would have 4 hours.  Oceania did provide a 10% credit,  but we lost 25% of the time we had in the park.  On the positive side, the food in the specialty restaurants was excellent (especially the Polo Grill).  The service at the specialty restaurants was always great!  Cruise director and Captain were awesome!

Regatta cruise by covet

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regatta / Destination: Caribbean

Every thing was at the level of service expected and in a few cases exceeded.

The boarding of vessel was on time and went smoothly.

Crew was outstanding. No delays in ordering food, drinks or what have you.

So wonderful to be on small ship. One does not have to walk for 6 min to get somewhere.

The smaller size also allows you to meet more people and form social groups for different activities or just sitting at one of the bars.

A deluxe journey - a few minuses by Cruiser498

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regatta / Destination: Caribbean

Oceania's Regatta is a compact smaller ship that is a blessing for those with "special needs".   Travelers with canes, walkers etc. can go the length of the ship easily and, after two days acclimation can find everything.     The staff are great - they greet you with sincere smiles and work hard to make you feel pampered.   The food is plentiful and delicious, especially the desserts!   Of the four restaurants, only Toscana needs improvement - their service is way too slow.  (I understand they will be combined with Polo next year).   The Spa is a welcome amenity - just watch for specials during the trip,  because their prices are in the stratosphere.  On our trip, Julie was the social director and she's tops.   The entertainers are second-rate but they try hard.   The casual "resort style" is welcome - no jackets or gowns needed. Activities on board are fun - but the lack of hosted Bridge or MahJongg was noted by this traveler.  The shops are also in the stratosphere - watch for sales.   The people who travel on this line are very friendly and approachable.   A lively daily newsletter and tv announcements keeps you aware of what is coming up the next day.  The computers work just fine and there's a library.   Bring sweaters - these two rooms are icy cold.  All in all, it's a great place to unwind for 7 - 10 days.

Great views of the Hubbard glacier by evmi56809

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regatta / Destination: Alaska

The highlight was the time spent at the Hubbard glacier.  The ports were nothing special with the exception of Victoria. As always, the service on the ship was exceptional.  Of the course the food was spectacular as well.

The Regatta is getting a bit old, however.  Very clean and in most ways truly exceptional but showing signs of wear.

Excursions were overpriced!

Review the Regatta cruse by moppypete

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regatta / Destination: Alaska

Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

The food in the Grand Dining Room  was very good for the most part.  It was more of a hit and miss as opposed to the two specialty dining areas which were excellent.

My main complaint was the lighting or lack of in the bathroom and the large closet.  There was not adequate light for applying my makeup and I had to get my small flashlight I brought with me to see my clothes,

I would be happy to recommend this cruse line to everyone.

Frontiers & Glaciers Cruise Exceded Out Expectations by LadyLobo75

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regatta / Destination: Alaska

The entire experience was wonderful. The Captain and his executive staff went out of their way to may us feel welcome; throughout the cruise they thanked the passengers for their patronage. All crew memebers were very friendly and willing to accommodate the guests requests. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We were blessed with perfect weather during our cruise; only one day with clouds and light rain. This was our third cruise with Oceania and out best experience.

Regatta 10 Night Alaska Cruise by kerriekrompf

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regatta / Destination: Alaska

This was our first cruise and it was an amazing experience.   Oceania offers impeccable service and met all of our needs. Nothing was too difficult for them and their major aim is to please the traveler.  We will definitely continue to cruise and Oceania will always be number one on our list.  Thank you and thank you to Jeremy Brown, our travel agent, at Luxury Only.

Regatta Caribbean by 67jellen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Once again, cruising with Oceania is a real joy. The staff is outstanding making everyone feel welcome from the first moment you arrive aboard until the moment you disembark. My wife has certain food allergies and Oceania goes above and beyond to see to her requirements.

Mayans and Islands 3/28-4/11/15 by cfinke3856

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Regatta / Destination: Caribbean

This was an action packed cruise. Costa, Maya, Mexico and Santo Tomas, Guatemala provided access to Mayan ruins.. The Santo Tomas stop provided a chartered flight to Tikal ruins which was spectacular.

Roatan and Grand Cayman provided snorkeling and scuba diving on their reefs. Puerto Limon, Costa Rica had a great Rainforest tour.  Colon, Panama, had access to Panama Canal locks and a train that went to Panama city and Returned back to Colon.  Cartagena, Columbia, had great shopping.  Ocho Rios Jamaica had access to Dunns River Falls for climbing and shopping.

The two weeks went by very fast.

Not up to usual standards by Opinionlady

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regatta / Destination: Caribbean

We have cruised on Regent and Oceania (same owners) and have been quite pleased in the past.  While we enjoyed this cruise, there were some noticable cutbacks:  Staff were not trained as well (lack of service skills and language skills) especially the restaurant servers at the buffet. The food was not quite the quality we expected except in the specialty restaurants. The wine stewards sometimes difficult to track down and the rooms were tired and in need of some maintenance.  Nearly everyone we met had some problem--toilets didn't flush, a/c didn't work properly, curtins lacked hooks so hung down.....

Neither the menus nor the day's activities were on the TV which, IMHO, is an inconvenience that can't be that expensive to do.  Also, a daily report from the ship's Captain was only provided on the first and last day.  Temperatures and weather were never "available" on the TV. Minor problems, certainly, but I'm afraid it  does not auger well for future travel on Oceania (and probably Regent).
