Be prepared for formal dinners that must be pre-arranged for added convenience. In addition I would advise future guests to do more research on the ports and cities to be visited, because despite the excellent tours available on Cruise, there are many tours that can be done.

Twice I made dinner reservations for a group of 14, and it worked well. Head waiter accommodated my request to provide hard boiled eggs so we could knock-eggs on Easter. Waitress knew our names and preferences the third night.

Dining in the Crown Grill is an exceptional experience, as is dining in the Crab Shack. Make reservations early as these specialty restaurants fill up quickly.

Read the small stuff that is print at the bottom of the daily schedule. It took us a couple of days to realize some cool stuff was happening like dance classes etc.

I suggest that someone about to sail on the Regal Princess read up on the excursions so you are going on ones that go to places you really want to see and book them as soon as you can.

If you want to have the special behind the scenes tour that cost a whopping $150, book it when you get on, it's very popular. We didn't get to do it but met people who had, and were blown away by it as they got to see the kitchens, print room, laundry etc.

The cabins have the energy-saving slot that requires a card be inserted for lights to come on (so does the Royal Princess). I kept an old Starbucks card in the slot to avoid putting my cruise card in and out.

If you want to get into the Sanctuary, go directly there when you board or you will lose out. Space was booked for almost the entire first week of our voyage. I was able to get a couple days in when the ship was in port. Fortunately, I was able to book the 2nd wk ahead of time.
