This is a great cruise. We were not really concerned with food, cabin arrangements, entertainment, etc. To me they are all about the same and we have sailed with Celebrity, New Holland, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and Princess. The most important thing for us was to get to see these beautiful cities. The sailing was like on glass...would hardly know you were in the water. There are about 20 hours of daylight and that is why we chose an inside room...we sleep better in darkness. When the sun is out the temperatures are a little on the cool side but perfect walking about weather. On cloudy days it is jacket weather. Beautiful part of the world!

Food and Dining

Buffet food was better than main dining room, we felt.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We did not spend a lot of time at ship activities. Did use the fitness center and it was very good.

Service and Staff

Staff was excellent in every way.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Again, we don't care too much about ship design. The ship is just the way to get us to the ports of call.

Ship tip
Wish they had a room at the front of the ship where you could go and relax and see where you were going. The Baltic Cruise weather is typically cool, often cloudy, so standing on the deck to watch the view was not practical, and there was no room at the front of the ship to take in the views.
Took the Hop-Onn Hop-Off bus...great way to see the city. Visit the Opera House even if you are like me who don't care for opera...you will be impressed by the building.
We opted to walk around Wandermunde and then take a 15 train ride to Rostock and walk around there, and not go to Berlin. These two cities were nice cities to walk around in and soak up the city.
We spent our time in and around the Hermitage. We did not go to the Hermitage...too crowded...but enjoyed being around the people in that area. We were there during the World Cup and that brought out people form different nations which was really cool. Took a canal tour. Be aware that if you don't take a Princess Excursion you will need a visa and if you plan on spending both days on your own there you have to have a multi-day visa. Princess does a very poor job in explaining which visa to get.
Our ship was forced to dock way outside of town so we took the Hop-On Hop-Off bus and that was a disaster. The bus was too crowded, it was raining, windows leaked, etc. We were afraid to get off because the bus would get to places to get on/off and could not let any new poeple on because we were too crowded. We were afraid we might not make it back to the ship. If you get to dock in the city you can simply walk to Old Town and that would have been what we did. Beautiful city...but the crowded bus, rain, and short time the ship is there made it our least desirable stop.
