Sawyer Glacier Cruise Beautiful Scenery Horrible Process Customer Service Lacking by pd116

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The Vancouver pier was absolutely HORRIBLE to try to get through and onto the ship. It took 3 hrs!! Nothing to eat and only water to drink while waiting. NOBODY explained or appologized for the delay or inconvenience. R/C did the muster drill while at least 300 of us were still waiting to board. When we went throught the boarding process w/RC, they neglected to get our credit card set up, even though we did the pre online boarding. It took 2 more times at the guest services to get it right. The ports were charming and the scenery was beautiful. We saw alot of wildlife. I would definitely recommend a balcony room for this itinerary. We have cruised 10 times with RC and this was the first time with so many mixups. I dont know if the Canadians are to blame or just the people doing this cruise but certainly there needs to be some review by RC, customs, the Canadians or something.

Nice experience by Mary29

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Hawaii

This cruise was a nice experience but would only recommend if you like being on the open sea for 5 or more days. It did become a little difficult by the 5th day. The food selections were very nice, staff extremely helpful, considerate, and friendly and the entertainment pretty good for the size of this ship. We had an inside cabin which we loved but it was very noisy. We could understand the ship noise from the walls as the ship moved but we could hear the people in the next cabin coughing in the morning and their TV late at night. That was not a very pleasant experience. The captain on this ship was very personable and seemed sincere when speaking to you. He gave you the sense that he enjoyed his appointment as captain and went out of his way to say hello to everyone as he passed by in the hallways. One suggestion was to have more telephones available to contact your loved ones in their stateroom. I had difficulty finding phones to place calls. Another suggestion is to have some type of communication device available maybe like a two way radio if you should get separated from your party and need to meet them somewhere. This ship was not too bad but the larger ones it's almost impossible to meet up again if you should get separated. All in all, the Islands of Hawaii had nice stops and we enjoyed it very much.

loved this cruise by DianaW3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

This was my 2nd cruise to Alaska as I gifted a cruise to my parent to their 50th anniviersary and my Aunt and Uncle also took this cruise with us such a good time. There was so many actives for all easy to get around, maybe another bank of elevators would be nice. People with young babbies should stay at home, or adult only cruise would be nice. Otherwise overall wonderful trip

The Walking Dead by schenard

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Radiance of the Seas is a beautiful cruise ship and the staff and crew were wonderful. They did everything to make the cruise a memorable experience. I always heard that Alaska cruises consisted mostly of an elderly clientele but this was ridiculous. Most of the passengers were angry, rude and completely oblivious to anyone else but themselves. I ran into numerous passengers with severe dementia, some would scream at staff for no reason, others would just push fellow passengers out of their way to get a better place in line. I asked my cabin steward about the anger I was experiencing among these elderly passengers and he told me it has been getting worse over the last few years. Passenger rudeness and extreme selfishness is now a serious problem for the cruise lines. I experienced it first hand.

First time to Alaska by CarlottaA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

This was a great cruise in spite of the foggy and cloudy weather. Must have been our choice of the time to go. The ship was beautiful - the service impeccable. Our dining room experience was the best ever. The crew kept up the excitement inside even though the temperature kept everyone away from the outdoor pool area. Our visit to the Hubbard Glacier was the brightest day and we were as close as the ship can get to this magnificent site. Great cruise.

Put Alaska On Your Bucket List by Mimimimi1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Alaska is must see and do for all ages! The ports of call are beautiful, the ship was amazing, staff friendly, cabin was bigger than we expected. Radiance of the Seas was a beautiful boat that had great amenities. The Adventure Ocean Kids club did such a great job that my daughter did not want to come out. The food was amazing and there was always something eat. No matter if you ate in the dinning room, hot dog stand, or snack at the Solarium; you will not be disappointed. The captain is friendly and even did a show to talk about the boat and what it is like to be a captain. The entertainment was also great! From the in house staff to the headliners that were brought in. Shows were well worth it.

Radiance of the sea and Land Pkg. by getmovin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

This was our 3 generations dream cruise with teenagers grandsons. The boys quickly settled in making friends utilizing the Basketball Courts, Minature Golf, TTennis, and Rockclimbing wall. We felt they were very safe on board because they often mentioned the security coming out of "No Where." Thanks RC.

Caribbean Cruise in Alaska by Favorite10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

There was a heat wave. People were around the pool as if cruising in the Caribbean. Weather was extremely warm for Alaska. Radiance of the Seas staff is exceptional. Took the time to call me by my preferred name, not necessarily name on passport/sea pass. Ship was clean and easy to navigate. Weather was exceptional.

The overall cruise experience was great. The land portion of this excursion was much less than impressive. The sights of Alaska were great but accommodations were terrible.

great cruise by intcruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

The cruise was great and we enjoyed it. You have a wonderful crew, Inna gave us another cabin on deck 3 after my wife became sick from the rolling of the ship, also Terrence Ewards was really helpful in giving us information on our excursion and transfer to the airport since we had to meet someone there before our flight. He did not only give us information but kept us fully informed and made it happen. Myself and wife complemented the crew and do recommend these two individuals as special employees. My only concern is that the theater shows was not in the quality as i saw on Voyager of the seas, needs to be better.

Radiance of the Seas 14 day cruise to New Zealand by TRAUMAX

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

This was our first trip to NZ. We were so impressed with the cruise itinerary, the ship, the magnificent scenery & the service, that we have decided to return in the near future. There was nothing that we could find fault with except perhaps for the large number of passengers, causing some delays. We admired all the oldies specially those in wheel chairs & with walking frames who ventured on this cruise.

A wonderful cruise by Patrici20905985

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The ship was very clean and welcoming. It was our first cruise with \"Royal Caribbean\" and we were impressed! The \"My Time\" dinning was a really wonderful experience. We got to have the same waiter and assistant waiter most evenings and we so enjoyed such \"royal\" treatment with them. We laughed and laughed! The ship has so MANY areas to explore and enjoy. The people on the ship traveling were interesting and affable. Was like a miniature \"United Nations\" and we ALL got along well. I would recommend to friends.

Relaxing & Informative! by SondraB10464853

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska

The Radiance of the Seas was beautiful! It had nearly every accomodation you could ask for & everything was within a short walking distance (even if you took the stairs instead of one of the 7 elevators). The staff was warm & welcoming - everything was planned & prepared like magic! A wonderful, relaxing experience. We look forward to going on another cruise!

This was our first cruise and we did extensive research before booking. The experience far exceeded our expectations. RC provides a very personal touch in all aspects of the experience. from stateroom attendants to the experienced yet easy to relate to captain, it was as relaxed as it can get. We will be back

Overall... the experience was OK. We expected a better level of service. We thought we would enjoy on-board entertainment and food more. But the service quality really brings down our ratings.

Not So Royal Caribbean Radiance by EdwardC3

Below average compared to previous RC cruise. Customer Assistance crew was surly and unhelpful; entertainment was subpar except for one show cabin was not clean and was not serviced correctly.
