Sawyer Glacier Cruise Beautiful Scenery Horrible Process Customer Service Lacking

Sail Date: May 09, 2014

Reviewed: 2 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The Vancouver pier was absolutely HORRIBLE to try to get through and onto the ship. It took 3 hrs!! Nothing to eat and only water to drink while waiting. NOBODY explained or appologized for the delay or inconvenience. R/C did the muster drill while at least 300 of us were still waiting to board. When we went throught the boarding process w/RC, they neglected to get our credit card set up, even though we did the pre online boarding. It took 2 more times at the guest services to get it right. The ports were charming and the scenery was beautiful. We saw alot of wildlife. I would definitely recommend a balcony room for this itinerary. We have cruised 10 times with RC and this was the first time with so many mixups. I dont know if the Canadians are to blame or just the people doing this cruise but certainly there needs to be some review by RC, customs, the Canadians or something.

Ship Quality

2 of the seven nights had good entertainment, the others were awful
Children's Programs NA
Onboard Activities
not enough variety or choices
Destinations and Excursions
beautiful scenery, nice variety of excursions
Cabin / Stateroom
Nice spacious room, cabin steward mumbled, wanted to come in all the time.
Vancouver (Ballantyne Pier), Canada
HORRIBLE, UNORGANIZED, understaffed, inexperienced staff
Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska
Very charming
Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska
Juneau, Alaska
Lots to see and do here
Ketchikan, Alaska
Not enough to do here, too many jewelry stores pushing their wares

Get a balcony room, otherwise you will not see anything
