Review summary

If you ever have the chance be sure to visit Alaska, amazing place to visit

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Took train from Anchorage to Seward, very easy to get thru terminal at port.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Mostly ate in the Windjammer, food was ok, always easy to find something good to eat. did not eat at specialty restaurants

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
did not personally do any rock climbing or pool activities, but a lot of people were enjoying them

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Been on 8 cruises on this ship, this years entertainment in the lounges was not up to their standards as it was on other trips.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I do not think we were around any staff that was not very friendly, helpful and always told us good morning or good evening, they all seem to really enjoy what they do

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was always clean

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Have picked the GTY cabin Balcony for several cruises, this time did not disappoint, for pricing would definitely do GTY again. Room was always clean and our room girl was very friendly when we saw her in hall.

Ship tip

If you have children of any age, you might consider one of the bigger ships with more activities for them. Kids were coonstantly running around everywhere up and down halls night and day, I think they needed some busy activities. Ship has mostly over 50 aged people on board it seemed to me.If nightly activities are not important and you don't mind smaller ship, this is the one to choose especially for Alaska.

Ports of call

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

Juneau, Alaska

If whale watching, consider an independent excursion, not with the ship. We were on a smaller boat with 25 people, it was amazing.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
A must do is the train ride.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
Chose Game Creek Guides and went stream fishing, had a great time. Also saw bears while fishing and while driving to fishing stream.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Nice port to eat at, and walk around town be sure to visit the Alaskan shops.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia
