Review summary

First time Cunard cruisers, we like it quiet and we do not like to be approached about ordering drinks all the time, so this cruise was perfect for us. Food was excellent we had real china no plastic plates (besides by the pool deck) Good variety of food in the dining room and Lido deck (loved all the sushi options, fresh fish, smoked salmon, lots of good bread options and great cheese. People got dressed for breakfast (enjoyed that we did not see any Pjs running around on). The cruise is not for everyone, not many young kids or young folks but very quiet and relaxing.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Dining room food was excellent, a bit on the bland side to cater to all customers, very attentive to our teenage kids with creating special dining experience for them. The Lido Buffet was good lots of sushi and smoked salmon and other fish options - salats were always the same, pasta and pizza station (I would have like to see more topping options there) The Lido Coffee was weak, juice and gluten free options very plentiful,

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
afternoon tea, shows were excellent, Lido Pool was quiet (no running or screaming kids) drink mix class was excellent,

Entertainment

5 out of 5
variety of life music to cater to all music taste, loved the piano and string music in the grand entrance for peaceful ambiance

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
room staff was always smiling and was on top of things, the minute we walked out to dinner or breakfast she was in our room and it was cleaned and taken care off. The Lido staff needs work - they are chatting with each other instead of cleaning tables quickly especially during rush hours, they need to become more attentive to replenish coffee mugs and silverware/napkins when cleaning the tables, the need more staff to walk around the refill tea or water for cruisers, Dining room staff was excellent.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
though the ship is getting old it was kept in good condition, love the dark wood and elegant feel.Queenn Victoria is a smaller ship if your cabin is close to the elevators mid ship you get to every point within a minute or two

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Room was clean, plenty of cupboard space for your dresses and suits to hang, 2 pillows for everyone and if you needed a different one the cabin steward was helpful to get me a smaller pillow as well. Hair dryers are in the room but do not work well. Soap products are excellent. Cabin is standard size for cruises small but efficient

Ship tip

bring nice clothes, no one gets breakfast in their Pjs, everyone dresses really nice in the evenings, 2 gala nights per week, one black and white so bring you black or white dress second gala night was a masquerade ball bring a mask, bring a clip for you deck towel,

we walked to the street market which is excellent, walked to the opera house, went antique shopping, enjoyed a coffee at the local community cafe, bought French table cloth overall felt safe

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

5 out of 5
old town has been cleaned up (from what is was 20 years ago)nice shopping, they warn for pickpockets but it felt safe in old town, bit different near the bus station, we took the public bus to El Areanl for $2 per person felt quick and safe, showed the kids the party scene of Mallorca which again fun

Valencia, Spain

5 out of 5
we loved Valencia, the ship has a shuttle bus to town still quiet a walk to told town but worth the walk we did a panoramic tour of valencia, and really enjoyed the Music hall and the pool underneath

Barcelona, Spain

4 out of 5
Very crowded, but we liked seeing the sights, walked a lot on cobble stones, enjoyed the food hall near LasRamblas

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
excellent, we got up enjoyed breakfast go to go back to the rooms after and left the rooms at 9 am, not like other cruises where you get kicked out of your room at 7 am
