Review summary

We saw the Northern Lights on 3 nights. The ship announces the sightings in public spaces and in the cabins. We will sail with Cunard again. We have cruised 5 times. Each time was with a different cruise line. My sister and I agree this was the best.

Embarkation

Embarking was smooth and efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate most dinner meals in the formal dinning room. We sat with others sometime and as a couple other times. The food was beautiful and delicious. The service was outstanding. Our favorite was the afternoon tea. The finger sandwiches, desserts and scones were fantastic.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
While I attended the water painting class, my sister sat in a sunny area working on her cross stitch project. We walked the ship for exercise.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We really laughed at the magician who did juggling. The various musical performances were excellent.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our stewart was thoughtful and polite. All ship personnel were smiling helpers.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We saw people constantly cleaning in common areas which led to a beautifully maintained ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We stayed in an inside cabin. It had the perfect set up and size for these sisters. We always came back to a clean cabin.

Ship tip

Being from the USA we enjoyed the company of the UK and Australia passengers. Find someone from a different culture and learn what you can.

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England

5 out of 5
Our only problem was arriving by bus during a football game and staying very close to the stadium. It was difficult to get a cab from the bus station to the hotel.

Alesund, Norway

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the coach trip which showed fjord villages and beautiful scenery.

Tromso, Norway

5 out of 5
We had an adventure not part of the ship excursions. We visited a Sami family and the reindeer. Feeding reindeer and learning about the Sami culture was the best experience of our cruise.

Narvik

Disembarkation

Cunard really has this down to a science. It was easy and efficient.
