Review summary

Lovely time on Queen Victoria which looks great after the refit, and the scenery around Norway is just breathtaking every day

Embarkation

Very prompt, friendly service. QEII terminal on Southampton is a bit dowdy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Always love the food on Cunard and this didn't fail to impress. Great selection at the buffets and top notch options in the Britannia Dining Room. We had the speciality dining this time - Bamboo the Pan Asian - and this was faultless, with the exception of my other half;'s crispy beef which was not crispy. However, the waitress was very apologetic and replaced this with very little delay with fresh; which had all the crunch we were after!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pools are small but lovely temperature and lots of sun loungers and seating on the Lido deck since the refit.

Ship tip

Avoid the table top sales in the Royal Arcade - it's like an expensive church jumble with aggression to match!

Bergen, Norway

Second largest city in Norway. Very cosmopolitan but we visited on a Sunday so a lot was closed. Ascended Ulriken mountain (in a cable car) which has amazing views.

Kristiansund, Norway

Pretty, tiny town across lots of islands. Get an all day ticket on the ferry so you can hop on and off as you please.

Geiranger, Norway

Absolutely stunning, picture postcard destination at the end of a Fjord. Make sure you're up early to witness the ship manoeuvre her way through the high-sided canyons

Haugesund

Quiet and not much going on. We have great weather so walked to the Norway National Monument but aside from that there wasn't much to do. Got an amazing sendoff from a local marching band though!
