Tickled by it all! So much tradition and old world style by HandyGuy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

Enjoyed the crossing and opportunity to dress up for the evenings. Service and food were excellent and to our perceptions well worth the QG price. Wouldn't travel everywhere on Cunard as formal wear requires a bit more packing of items for longer trips. But if you don't mind getting dressed up it was well worth it to us...

A Liner is Not a Cruise Ship by bmetcalf

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

The North Atlantic is prone to high seas, and this trip was no exception, with salt spray soaking our deck 5 cabin's balcony. But as the Queen Mary 2 was designed for this, the only impact was the loss of use of that balcony. All was very stable, despite beign on the tail end of a hurricane. We took this trip primarily as transportation (we hate to fly), and it was much more than adequate at that. Dining room service was a bit slow and the shows unimpressive, but the lectures were excellent and all else just as expected.

All around a fantastic experience.... by ShaunQ

Sail date: /
Ship: Queen Mary 2

All around a fantastic experience. The crew was clearly very proud of their ship and it showed in their service from start to finish. The ship itself was a wonder - steadier than any ship I’ve previously sailed. The rooms were well appointed and public room decor inspired by the original Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth. The high ceilings really made the ship feel very roomy (which of course she is) and the passengers from all walks of life and nationalities were a delight to meet and engaged readily from day 1 to day 7. Everyone seemed genuinely excited to be aboard for the crossing. Food was amazing, both in the main dining room and the buffet. All around a fantastic experience.

Very enjoyable by wenlyn

Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

This was our 7th cruise with Cunard, and the 6th crossing. When we first contemplated a transatlantic crossing we had some reservations we might be bored but found the time goes so fast we never did. There is something subtly addictive about the experience which is why we have now completed so many crossings, we only started cruising 8 years ago. We love the formality of dressing for dinner, so different to our every day lives, and the fact most people adhere to the dress code which creates a sumptuous atmosphere. Knowing you have a run of uninterrupted sea days is so relaxing and you develop your own routine for each day. There is always lots of things you could do but we usually find we fill our time easily enough without partaking of many organised events, although on this trip I did the Commodores cocktail tasting, it was a fun and interesting class - you need to keep your eyes peeled for it being offered though because it has limited spaces. Ship rarely feels crowded, the buffet can be busy if you hit it in the 5-10 minutes after a lunchtime lecture finishes. You only really become aware of how many people are on board during muster & disembarkation.

Transatlantic in angry Seas by WaynesCruising

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

Although we encountered Gale force winds and high seas for most of the crossing, the QM2 is very stable on the lower decks. Impressive how little movement there is in 30 foot seas. Higher decks do have considerable movement. Outstanding Entertainment in the shows, food was excellent.

Brilliant way to travel to USA! by Intrepidandy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

This was our first cruise and Cunard did a fantastic job. Other guests said Cunard and QM2 are the best line by a long way, and we certainly had a great time. The Chief Engineer Tim Holton was great, we discussed technical stuff and he was a perfect host. The captain was impressive, and all the staff were friendly and efficient. Great way to get to USA!!!

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

I would do this cruise again we had a fantastic time, our daughter joined us for the Caribbean leg. As you can see from my comments above the islands were great and the people so friendly. Of course the Caribbean weather apart from one day was great. The QM2 is a great floating hotel. Only negative I am now on a diet!!!

Just spent 27 nights onboard... by richyfaz

Sail date: /
Ship: Queen Mary 2

Just spent 27 nights onboard . My only criticism is the entertainment. The resident theatre singers are poor. However there where some good guest acts. Cunard need to invest in some props and sets. The singers sang about ' the snow is falling all around '. The only presence onstage was the orchestra. All productions flat and over hyped. The Entertainment Director who has worked on other ships so will know the standard the other ships are providing. Also poor choice of films in cinema. Come on Cunard and those responsible for the entertainment and up your game. Otherwise I would recommend the ship.

Great ship! We love QM2!... by CruiseMonkeys

Great ship! We love QM2! You can find our tour at https://youtu.be/lQVI7SN9EBU or search HolidaysAtSea on YouTube. On our 3 night cruise we tried to do as much as we could. Some great meals in the main dining room but we also went to the new Steak House at The Verandah.

Overall, a fairly smooth crossing. The variety of topics for the speakers was not as good as it has been on other crossings.

Recently arrived back off a... by DavidGail

Sail date: /
Ship: Queen Mary 2

Recently arrived back off a short 4 night break on the QM2, and I had forgotten what a wonderful experience it was travelling on her. The last time we sailed on QM2 was five years ago and nothing quite compares. As it was part of my 50th birthday present we upgraded to Britannia Club so we could go to dinner anytime between 18:30 and 21:30 and we had the same table and waiters, the service was fantastic. Entertainment was good, cabin clean and spacious and what I like none of the service was invasive, just right. I believe Cunard have purposely priced their voyages for a certain market which I understand, my choice is do I go on two trips a year on P&O or one on Cunard! I have to say I may sound like a snob (I promise I am not) but on Cunard you don’t have people leaving empty glasses in the lift, loads of drunk people stumbling around the ship, I suppose due to drinks prices on Cunard no one can afford to get drunk 🤣 Anyway, the QM2 is fantastic I am planning Transatlantic next.
