Ship: Queen Mary 2

Cabin type: Balcony

Review summary

Although we encountered Gale force winds and high seas for most of the crossing, the QM2 is very stable on the lower decks. Impressive how little movement there is in 30 foot seas. Higher decks do have considerable movement. Outstanding Entertainment in the shows, food was excellent.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Check-in Staff was very rushed, no smiles at all.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food onboard the Queen Mary 2 was excellent. Good quality and selection, superior to other Cruiselines.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Onboard Activities are limited to Motivational talks, a lot of activities such as Art class's come with additional fees.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Onboard Entertainment was top notch, hard to beat on any Cruise.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Cunard White Glove onboard service was as expected, no complaints.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Cleanliness was not an issue, ship was always well maintained. Ship Design for such a large vessel is disappointing , Grand Lobby area is small often crowded.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin on Deck 12 had considerable movement in rough seas, lots of wind noise. Cabin was similar to other cruise lines.

Ship tip

Book on a lower deck for North Atlantic crossings.

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England

4 out of 5
For Cunard's Home Port not a good Boarding Experience

New York, New York

5 out of 5
New York on a nice day is always fantastic.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth no issues.
