It didn't feel like the normal Royal experience. We still enjoyed ourselves and want to do another Alaska cruise on a different ship in the future.

Vancouver was very organized and smooth. Like other ports, they need to enforce the boarding times so there isn't a mob waiting to board.
The worst part was not Royal's fault. We didn't sail until 3am, but you couldn't leave the ship once you boarded due to Canadian customs.

There was a large group who were loud and obnoxious all week that made for a bad experience if you were there when they were. Even then, still not the same experience as on other Royal ships.

There weren't any shows that made us feel we were missing something if we didn't go.

Our room attendant was good and our waiter Handry was excellent. Other than those two, everyone else seemed uninterested in being there.

The cabin was nice, but storage was a little tight. Had one night that sounded like they were taking a jackhammer to the floor behind our bed at midnight while unclogging a toilet, but other than that, it was quiet.
Ship tip
Lower expectations. Alaska and the views were great, even with overcast skies. It just didn't feel up to Royal standards.
