Food and Dining

RCCL has got to up their game on beers. Only one draft beer available on the whole ship in one bar and that was Heineken (not bad, but…) The bottled beers are Bud, BL, Mich Ultra, etc. more for the NASCAR track rather than an upper scale cruise ship itinerary. NCL (Norwegian) has a great beer hall with 15-20 beers on tap (lagers, IPAs, darks, etc). RCL needs a massive refresh in their beer mentality.

Great ambience but food is not “top steak house” caliber. Mid-par at best. I’d say quality is Outback Steakhouse quality.

Do the White Pass train ride. Well worth it. There’s many variations.

Having sailed Alaska many times I stay in South-center area the night prior after arrival. Much better than staying downtown.
