Review summary

The ship, every member of the crew from those we never saw but had an invaluable job to perform to those we saw every day went above and beyond to ensure that everything was as good as it could get.

Embarkation

Very easy and smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining rooms were good as well as the speciality restaurants I joined. Jaimie’s Italian, Wonderland (very different!) and Chopped were all good with excellent service.

Onboard Activities

The cruise director was outstanding. The North Star was very cool. One could find something to entertain yourself with at any time of the day or night. Love & Marriage absolutely hysterical. The Crazy Quest so much fun. Comedian Steve McGrew funny but some jokes weren’t. I’m no prude but there is a line and he crossed it a few times, not cool. He’s on a cruise ship not in a venue where people are buying tickets to see him exclusively. Live Love Legs amazing. Everyone involved in any of the productions put their hearts in it. Wonderful.

Entertainment

As I said. Wonderful.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every crew member was completely attentive. Even when some jerk told the crew member at the Windjammer that he wasn’t gonna wash his hands cause ‘Y’all not gonna tell me what to do’ the crew member contained his anger and hopefully called security instead. I’m sure they all witnessed incredible acts of selfishness on behalf of the passengers and kudos to the crew for not causing a scene. Not sure what else could have been done.

Ship Quality

You first walk on and it’s like I’ll never ever find my way anywhere. But you do. Once you figure out the layout signs are everywhere. Everything was cleaned and very well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Perfect for a single person with a perfect layout. It was really amazing to be taking a shower while at sea and be able to watch the horizon go past. Cabin was kept perfectly clean. One and only complaint: please oh please get a mattress that is more comfortable. Your pillows were amazing but the mattress, not so much.

Ship tip

Attend as many things possible. Be patient waiting for the elevator when at sea. I used the stairs when possible and thought what a good way to burn off some of this food I’m eating. And really people just stop looking to complain about stuff. It’s a blessing you’re able to go away.

Mendenhall Glacier and Evening Whale Quest. The glacier was very interesting. Spent just enough time there. Not too short, not too long. The boat afterwards was amazing. A 25 year old female captain that was awesome. Saw lots of whales. The scenery was breathtaking.

Skagway, Alaska

Dog sled and Mushers Camp. What can I say. Loved loved loved. The dogs and the camp and holding the puppies. Great stuff.

Sitka, Alaska

Zodiac adventure and fin island. Zodiac boat was fun. The sea otters we saw were great and the guide was amazing with her knowledge. Fin Island was fine. If I travelled with just the crew it would have been more fun. People were just not friendly. Amazing to me.

Whale watching and wild life tour in the evening was breathtaking. The sky and the whole experience was great. The guide was amazing especially he said put your phones away and let me take the pics which I will share with you for free, and he was true to his word. His pictures were far better then anything I could have possibly captured and it enabled the passengers to really enjoy the trip. Except for those of course that had to get in your line of sight anyway because they were the only one on board lol.

Disembarkation

Easy easy.
