In Essence the Alaskan Glacier Sailing is an AMAZING voyage!!! Royal definitely did right with making the Ovation part of their Alaska sailings!!!
Embarkation

The Port Employees were very friendly and courteous, but there was just a slight bit of confusion on arrival time., i.e guest arrival time of 12:00 vs guest arrival time of 12:00-12:30. Very confusing but once they got it straightened out the boarding process was SMOOTH and QUICK

Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We have always been impressed with the level of activities under the Royal umbrella.
This sailing we partook in more of the Vitality experience and the Solarium.
We are not much into rock climbing or the iFly experience.

Did some souvenir shopping on our last sea day. We found some cute finds for the children and grands.
Entertainment

Just as activities, Royal does entertainment the BEST.
The stage shows, as well as, comedians and other performers is always Class A.
Service and Staff

Everyone that we encountered whether it being wait staff to room stewards and shop personnel were so very PROFESSIONAL and engaging!!!

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin 9612 is a Junior Suite and Royal DEFINITELY kicked it up a notch with the Quantum Class. I can’t say enough the bath and 1/2. The Expresso machine. The nightly treats and the list just goes on & on & on!!!
This was our Embarkation Port BUT we did fly in two days early to experience the Seattle life!!!
We stayed at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront and explored the town and different eateries throughout the Pike Place Market. Pike Place Chowder is DELISH
When you think of Skagway you have to reference The White Pass Scenic Railway.
Although, at this time, the entire railway is not able to be accessed, the part you are able to visit and get history of is still AMAZING!!!!
We, of course, did the Mendenhall Glacier and Evening Whale Quest!! The Glacier is definitely AMAZING!! Although it did rain 🌧 but the experience was a MUST.
The second part of the excursion, The Evening Whale Quest was So So. It was not the most observatory when it came down to Whale 🐳 Watching tours of this sailing!!!
Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier was just BREATHTAKING!!!
We sat in the Windjammer as we approached the Glacier and headed up to the top deck and the Captain gave us the show of a LIFETIME as we approached as close as reasonably possible and rotated the ship, this giving everyone the same opportunity to see the Glacier in her full GLORY!!!
This sailing was the first time we utilized the Port Valor experience…
We were definitely impressed the entire process from beginning to end!!!
We completed the necessary form @ Guest Services. We receive our checkin information and luggage tags from Guest Services on the day before disembarking. Our room steward took our luggage on the night before as usual, the Royal Valor program took our luggage to the airport and the next time we seen our luggage was when we retrieved our bags at our home airport!!
