Food was good, ship was small. The sauna was smaller than my bathroom. You should have kicked the male singers into the ocean because they just yell and not singing. I would rather listen to the waiter sing the birthday song.

The Specialty and Fine dining was grossly misrepresented and 3 star at best. After trying the Pinnacle and Canaletto restaurants, we saw no reason to try the other two. The Canaletto was anything but a fine dining experience. It was just a section of the buffet dining area that was sequester in the evenings. Quality was very average at both. Some of the excursions were great and others not so much. We could have saved money and had a better experience in Victoria with the Bouchart Gardens by just taking a Taxi to and from the ship, arriving earlier, and skipping the fireworks.

overall a very good cruise. i would have like to have more time in Victoria Canada, as well as Ketchikan, Alaska. I really enjoyed the food, and friendliness of the staff.

I would not book this cruise line again, due to the fact that the Internet connection was absolutely horrible and ridiculously expensive. They charge you the second you log in, even though you cannot get a connection ~ total rip-off! It should be free.

memorable. wished the windows were cleaned a little more to have a better view. more signs as to where you are on the ship. wanted a little more seafood options for the buffet. needed more serving staff for buffet, very long lines

we really enjoyed our first cruise.   The FOOD was excellent!!!   the sights were great - Hubbard Glacier was awesome - calfed and we got close - saw whale spouts and dolphin from ship - entertainment was mostly good.   The weather was great and the seas relatively calm.   Most of the excursions were good - depends on the guide more than anything.   One was not so good.   Didn't think we would do cruising but now we are considering another one!!!

Loved the Oosterdam, but then I always enjoy the HAL ships. BEST cabin! Inside, #1123...on the main deck, all the way at the back, only share a wall with one other cabin, it is remarkably big! I paced off about four feet from the end of the bed to the closets, plus there is a table, a banquette-type love seat, and a chair. 

All for me. Loved it. Feel like following the Oosterdam and booking that cabin each time. 

Alaska is delightful, especially Sitka and Ketchikan. However, I surely enjoyed visiting the Mendenhall glacier in Juneau. Took the whale-watching excursion in Victoria and saw many whales! 

The piano quintet in the Lincoln Center Stage was phenomenonally good. I made almost every one of their performances. If you enjoy strings, you are in for a treat. 

Great ship and and a great route! Really want to do it again. ;^)

Alaska was so AWESOME. The cruise was so so.Most of the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The cruise director(dictator] is more like it.He sucked His name was Andy.He made anouncements sending people to disembarck in the wrong place. He also got some of the times wrong on certain activities. Him and his partner called the bingo numbers way TOO FAST.Boy I wish I had his job.Anyway enough about him. The ship was old and made alot of noises on a sea that was very calm.Our cabin was 2 floors below the pool deck. Every morning at 5:30 a staff member started dragging chairs across the deck.I wear earplugs when I sleep and it still woke me up. Finally I ignored my wifes reluctantcy and I went up and complained to him. It stopped-FOR 1 DAY. The cruise was after school was out for summer so there were some kids aboard. This didnt bother me but what did bother me was that they allowed kids to play inside an enclosed lounge.I went there for peace and relaxation and these kids were so noisey.The food was O.K.Not the best. Not too many different options unless you chose to specialty dine. The entetainment was fair at best.I guess you get what you pay for I could not afford a different line.Dispite all this I did really enjoy it however I would not sail with them again unless the deal was incredible.

My favorite part was the whale watch tour by Dolphin tours in Juneau. My grandson was along for the trip and his favorite part was the Loft, an area set aside for teens. There was a Loft Director who did a wonderful job keeping the teens entertained and happy. My grandson spent almost all of his time there except for shore excursions.

I can't say enough about our 7-night cruise to Alaska on the Oosterdam. The accommodations were superb, the food was incredible, and the service was absolutely top notch! It was everything we expected and more. The only downside is having to readjust to "real" life after being pampered and served for a week at sea. The crew was great. From the very beginning, our room stewards and our wait staff new and used our names, and quickly learned our preferences, and made us feel welcome at all times. Always smiling and helpful, they often went out of their way for us. The food was superb, a different gourmet meal every night. And the excursions and onboard entertainment were great. I can't wait to cruise with Holland America again, and would whole-heartedly recommend this line to anyone. It was well worth every dollar we paid for the experience.

It is always a joy to cruise on an Holland America Ship. This time it was on the Oosterdam again. The room was excellent, service was excellent, crew was  excellent. I must add the food was also excellent.

I can't say enough good things about this cruise. Everyone we encountered on the Oosterdam was delightful. The staff made a huge fuss of my 5 year old nephew and there was a Kid's Club he could attend all day (heaven for him; a great break for the adults). There were loads of great activities on the ship, the shore destinations were fantastic, the ship was spotlessly clean and everything was extremely well organized. The food was excellent--great variety and quality. All of the common areas were lovely--the cafe & library, the bars, the observation areas, the theatre, etc. I really don't have a single complaint (which is unusual for me because I'm horribly picky). 

.the staff in all areas of the ship was outstanding, food was very good with beautiful presentation and many choices to be had.stateroom was adequate for w/c accessibility. could not find even a quiet corner away from blaring music, shouting guests or running kids. the boat really needs an adults only quiet space to get away from the din.

we did have a very nice trip even though I had to spend many hours in the room for quiet time...too bad I couldn't afford a balcony room, missed a lot of the scenery having an interior room

The piano quartet was amazing.  The specialty restaurants and the waitstaff in these restaurants were as good as a 5 star restaurant. The room service is wonderful for breakfast and chamomile tea and cookies and bedtime.  The comfort of the signature suite was very nice.  However the tile in the bathroom had some mold at grout along the lower portion near the tub. 

The itinerary was great.  The waitstaff in the main dining room was not as attentive as some other ships.

The overall experience was very good and we would travel Holland America again.

I am so glad we chose Holland America as our cruise line. The our ship was the Oosterdam and it was a beautiful ship. Everywhere we looked there were people cleaning or doing maintenance on the ship. Upkeep is so important. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful. I can't think of anything we would change about our cruise. If we go on another cruise it will definitely be with Holland America and I will recommend it to anyone who asks. 

Each member of the Oosterdam crew was professional and pleasant.

Entertainment was excellent.  Wish there was a bit more for some of the early afternoons at sea.

Enjoyed the trip.  Alaska was the last state that I needed 

to visit to complete going to all fifty states.  The ports of

call were good with the exception of Sitka.  Not much there.

Could have spent more time in Victoria.   A+ for ships 

emphasizing sanitation.  Food service was sometimes 

crowded.  Entertainment was okay but not memorable.

This was our first cruise, and we went with my parents and our teen daughter.  We had a great time!  Overall, it was amazing!  

THE PROS:  The staff was amazing, always smiling and speaking to you, always ready to help with whatever you needed, and they even remembered our names!!!  Everyone was very accommodating.  My daughter was completely spoiled with room service :)  Our room was perfect....loved the balcony!  We had dinners in the Vista dining room, which was beautiful and had great food.  The staff made a special effort to celebrate my parents' anniversary, bringing them cake and singing to them.

THE CONS:  I wish we could have spent more time in the Alaskan towns.  The Lido deck casual dining was way too crowded, hard to find a seat sometimes and lengthy lines.  Mattress on the sofa sleeper was very uncomfortable.  

I really enjoyed Juneau and Ketchikan as well as Victoria BC and Hubbard Glacier.  I didn't like Sitka as much and returned to the ship early.  The food was excellent as well as the staff and onboard activities.
