Although the food was great, I was shocked that I'd have to pay for lobster tail in the regular dining room--that's a first for me.
The Jacuzzi jets were not strong, (unless you paid extra to use the spa Jacuzzi), the entertainment was subpar; the ship was clean and the rooms were lovely. The excursions were expensive and no info available for anyone who wanted to explore on their own, even guest services staff knew very little about the stops and could not answer our questions.
It's my second trip with HA and all-in-all, I would not recommend this cruise line!

I did as many as I could get to but their timings were off and not enough during the day and several overlapped.
Entertainment

The main stage entertainment was not spectacular at all. I've been on 3-day cruises where the shows were Las Vegas caliber spectacular. One was an ice-skating extravaganza so you can imagine my disappointment
Service and Staff

Our room stewards Juli and Marwanto were AMAZING!!! Very attentive and personable. I wish I could have clone them. In fact, all the servers were friendly, ready with a smile and a warm greeting no matter the time of day/night!!

Loved the window elevators, the fast elevators, the cleanliness too. I reported a stopped up toilet near the Rolling Stones lounge and within hours it was taken care of.
Cabin / Stateroom

Some obstructed view, but it was mostly obstructed. I didn't like that someone was on the balcony washing my windows looking in early in the AM.
Ship tip
No need to pack a hairdryer or shampoo or soap! It's all there for you:-)
Loved the beach! Very affordable for souvenirs. Although landing here on a Sunday was not a good idea. The entire town was closed! Should add a beach excursion to your list.
Wonderful experience. Should have stayed longer. Recommend adding a Turkish bath experience to your list and a list of recommended vendors... there's sooooo much here that could be explored!
What a blatant lie! Trieste is 2 hours train ride from Venice! (It's like docking in San Pedro and saying your in San Diego!) I suggest at least some truth in advertisement or add 2 days and land accommodations so your guests can explore Venice before it's no longer an option!
Thanks for your review. I do also think to make your experience better you could have done more research yourself on where Trieste was and on some other ports. It has been well publicised that cruise ships can’t dock in Venice now. And Corfu is lovely if you avoid the town centre and tour the island instead.
Thank you for sharing. I sail HAL frequently and I too dislike the charge for lobster tail in the main dining room. I also agree that the entertainment has gone downhill and is not very good. I like the low key vibe on the ships and the service is still top notch - that, and the fact I have reached 4star status means I'll likely continue to sail on HAL.
Guess you didn't bother doing any research or look at the excursions carefully. No cruise ships are allowed to dock in Venice anymore. That is why they have to dock elsewhere and have day excursions to Venice.
