Ports of call
Venice was everything we had ever dreamed it would be! Lively, but calm, crowded but you can turn a corner and be all alone. Allow yourself to get lost! Plus we were given a signature experience on HAL...a night of drinks and food at a royal palace in the Grand Canal....it was wonderful!
No need for an excursion here. You can get to the walled city with a short cab ride and walk around by yourself. Don’t miss the cable car...outstanding views!
The ocean was beautiful but the people are pushy and begging in streets. It has a lot of potential but needs some more time to really develop.
Only paid for a ride to Olympia and back (no excursion). Everything can be done on your own.
Took an excursion that started in the Amalfi Coast (DO NOT MISS THIS)and ended in Pompeii. One of the best days of our cruise!
Took an excursion that went EVERYWHERE! Lots of walking which we enjoyed. It is an hour and a half just to get from port to Rome so plan this in your day.
Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy
No tour group needed here. Get off and walk all around. Go to Royal Palace, church where Prince & Princess are buried, walk to casino and hotel. Marvel at the yachts and the cars. Beautiful!
Kind of boring. Small fishing village. No one spoke English - not that they should but foreigners should be prepared for this. It was pretty but after 2 hours you’ve done the whole port.
