Review summary

Captain and crew took magnificent care of us throughout the journey. Of special note were our stateroom attendants in the Upper Veranda balcony suite, and our amazing wait staff (Lucky and Miranda) in Pinnacle Grill.

Our everyday Lido Breakfast, Lunch and sometimes Diner service in Lido was terrific -- nice variety, thorough and caring attendants, impeccable cleanliness. Really appreciated the weight-watcher friendly options -- I only gained two pounds!!

This was my first balcony suite cruise experience, and I'm not sure I'll ever go back! Especially for Alaska, it was worth every cent of upgrade cost -- and probably more! Thank you, , for that excellent guidance.

We had never been there -- what a remarkable evening. One note, to the coordinators, and really our only misstep of the week: with limited time in port, it makes zero sense to lock the folks journeying to Butchart Gardens up in the Vista Lounge for an hour, waiting for transfer with everyone else. With limited daylight, we should have been expedited. Once we were aboard buses, it was wonderful --- but our actual time at Butchart Gardens was only 2 hours, about a quarter of it in darkness. You can probably find a way to fix that pretty easily ...

We were having a BLAST abourd the deadliest catch/Aleutian Ballad -- great experience with wonderful guys. Unfortunately, the trip was cut short about an hour into things due to a technical difficulty -- and they refunded the entire amount!! That was way over the top and really unnecessary, as we'd already had plenty of value ... but speaks to the kind of operation they run. First Class ... we will be back, and will recommend you!

Don't Miss: Deadliest Catch fishing boat: Aleutian Ballad

The raptor center was interesting ... for us, the town and the dancers were just so so. Maybe we were spoiled by the day before ... dogsledding and glacier hopping by helicopter. Sitka's pretty and our weather was great, but we were glad to get back to the ship

Don't Miss: the tenders were fun!!

Our very favorite stop ... OMG we had a wonderful, once in a lifetime experience! Between the amazing views from the helicopter and the passion of the dogsledding people -- well, I'm not sure how we will top this one, ever.

Don't Miss: DO NOT MISS the helicopter to the glacier and dogsledding experience.

Pros: luxurious surroundings, first class service, and a great blend of rest and adventure

Cons: Very little downside ... we had a wonderful time!!

Recommends Oosterdam? Yes!
