This was a really nice cruise with good ports and perfect weather. Being our first European cruise, I went with ship excursions in each port. I have learned that it is not necessary to have excursions everyday. Just enjoying the day in port and taking in the experience is nice too.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very easy port and fast embarkation.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food has definitely gone down hill since Covid. No more lobster in the main dinning room. Less selections. We did a 3 night dining plan and other than Wonderland, we were very underwhelmed. It seems like all the effort is directed at the Coastal Kitchen with diamond plus loyalty taking 2nd place to which suite you are booked in.
Solarium Bistro

Nice change from the main dining room. Felt like a specialty restaurant.
Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine
5 out of 5
Dinner and service were excellent. Best meal of the trip.
Giovanni's Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar
3 out of 5
Very average meal. Not what we experienced on other ships.
Chop's Grille
3 out of 5
Meal was nice but not to the level of a Specialty dinning restaurant. Service was great.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Nice activities on a trip where the destination was the main attraction. Still lots of fun stuff to do around the ship
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Shows were nice and plenty of quality entertainment to be found.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Had good service from most staff.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship was beautiful and clean. Prefer Oasis class ship but we really enjoyed sailing on the Odyssey..
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Loved our cabin. It was clean and new even with its obstructed view. We were mid ship floor 6 and it was smooth and perfect.
Ship tip
Do not book excursions in every port. Many can be done without an excursion. Would give opportunity to just stop and enjoy the wonderful places we visited.
Was not happy with our ship tour. Went to a ruin that was just a waste of time. The tour guide came up and said he would get a $20 credit for every child and adult over 65. He had people raise their hands so he could pay for less people and keep the rest. The bus was a mess and the air did not work. We kept asking for air and he said it was what it was.
We were a full bus and traveled to the honey bee stop. It was the tour highlight. However, due to the number of people and buses, they cut our time there and barely gave us any time to enjoy or shop.
Went on ship tour Farmhouse wine tasting and city walking tour. The owner of the Farmhouse winery was awful. He had a monotoned voice and expected a room full of adults to give complete attention with no talking allowed. It was not a good tour and Mykonos is a port that can be done without an excursion.
We did a tour with the ship to Ephesus. It was a really good tour, knowledgeable guide, really nice bus and beautiful country. Would highly recommend. Ended with a carpet demonstration where they trap you in a room and give you a hard sell sale pitch to try and sell you a carpet. This was not enjoyed or needed.
