Review summary

All in all it was a great cruise. Met some lovely people. Food was fab, varied, tasty and plentiful. Bit disappointed that some passengers didn't dress up for black tie nights, think that rule should be enforced more by the cruise company. Our suite was fantastic, but telly could do with upgrading. A little annoyed that our bill was not delivered to our cabin before we left, everyone else's was on our deck, when we mentioned it to the member of staff at disembarkation, his remark was it was too late and didn't attempt to rectify this in any way, just wanted us to leave the ship! So we never saw the bill, it was taken from our bank without being able to check it. Not very satisfactory really. Was impressed with handling of luggage on and off the ship though, generally very satisfying first cruise and will definitely be booking another.

Found it to be dirty in Casemates square, rubbish blowing about everywhere from McDonald's.

Loved the old buildings, Sagrada la Familia church was too busy to go in as it was Easter, expensive eateries on the main drag of Last Ramble. Somebody attempted to pick pocket my bag on the metro.

Marseille (Provence), France

Loved this port, friendly locals, lovely market, beautiful harbour, found a family run bar/restaurant down a side street which served good wine and pan of mussels with amazing home cooked chips for a very reasonable price.

La Spezia (Cinque Terre), Italy

Pisa trip was great, Florence was very busy as Easter and all the locals were out, too busy to see most of the sights, would be great another time. Lovely to sit in the square at a bar with a bottle of local wine and watch the world go by. Very knowledgeable guide.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

Didn't think the wine tasting trip was very good value for money, but was interesting. Lovely scenery on coach trip and great guide from Trumpy tours, who had us all laughing.

Malta

Left the Ociana to fly home from here but what we saw seemed nice. Slightly spoilt our holiday as too many people were taken to the airport all at once, airport couldn't cope with the numbers, all crammed in departure lounge, not enough seats and flight home delayed by 2 hours so sat in the plane for 2.5 hours before we took off due to numbers of passengers not tallying up with the airport's paperwork, resulting in us missing our booked and paid for train at Gatwick and having to pay for more tickets.
