Review summary

Cruise was nice, but too many people, and our room almost ruined the entire trip. Either our A/C was broken, or the balcony door was flawed, or both, but basically it was way too hot in the room, and no amount of tech visits could fix the issue. Then the A/C flooded part of the floor and they had to dry out the room. Customer service tried to find us other rooms, but as a family of 5, there was nothing available, as RC filled the boat to the brim. We would have even taken two interior rooms, but nothing was available. Also, room slept 5, but storage for 5 people was laughable. We've stayed in other balcony rooms and always made it work, but they cut the storage like in half. Same storage for 2 people as 5...room was a disaster!

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food is always pretty decent on Royal. No complaints, though we didn't use the specialty restaurants

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
A lot to do on the Oasis...kids had a blast on the water slides, purple slide, pools, ice skating, and laser tag!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Aqua 80 in particular was amazing. Only complaint was that the sound is loud. May want to bring hearing protection...

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Kids club had a lot of people and a lot of entertainment, but staff was probably overwhelmed with the amount of kids on the ship. Playing the "quiet game" and doing role call for entertainment is not really quality kid activities.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone is over the top friendly

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Cool design, everything was clean

Ship tip

If you are a larger family, book two adjoing rooms, as central park is not a viable option.

I agree that five people in one balcony room is unreasonable, even with the AC working well. As someone said, all that body heat, people taking showers, etc would add to the heat to the room. Next time splurge for another room

5 people in the room is probably why the cabin was so hot....all that body heat crammed in such a small space. I think you all would've been more comfortable in 2 cabins.
