Review summary

overall, this cruise experience is terrible. From the long waiting time at the port to get a room to get a noisy room and talked to the customer service many times in person to finally get a room. And the foods selection is very limited.

worse than terrible. When we checked in at the port, we were told we were not assigned a stateroom. they let us wait for more than two hours to get a room.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The food selection is so limited. And the menu in buffets and specialty restaurants are the same during the whole trip. Even the main dining room has very limited selections. I would say the foods may be Ok for home cooking but not OK for fancy cruise foods.

Onboard Activities

no comments since I didn’t use them

Entertainment

Cabin / Stateroom

We heard a lot of noise in the first three days and the noise woke me up at around 2 am. First I thought there may be a noisy neighbor. Then I realized this was the case. So we called the customer service and we were told someone would come to check it out. No one came. I had to talk to customer service in person. Finally someone came and said he heard it. He wrote something on a piece of paper and left. He said he would talk to customer service. Then no results. We waited and waited and finally we were told there were no other rooms available. I went down to the customer service again at mid night to seek a solution. The lady worked there still told me no more rooms. I told her there is no way I can sleep in that room. Finall a gentleman showed up and said he can switch room for me. So at about 1:30 am, we were able to move in another room, just two doors away. Although sometime there were still noises, the frequent and intensity were less.

Ship tip

make sure you have a room assigned . Even you receive emails everyday before sailing and luggage tags from the mail .

This cruise has more dining options than days in a week. Too bad you didn’t enjoy cause we sure love our vacation on the Viva!

What room were you in?

You sound fun…

Sounds like you took a guarantee stateroom, it’s cheaper but rarely a good idea. Next time pay a little more and choose your room. Guarantee is essentially leftovers that people don’t want.

We were recently on the Viva and with the new indulge food hall there are literally more food choices than ever before…. Restaurants always have their set menu and then have the daily specials which rotate every few days.. we loved the options the were offered.

Sorry you were not pleased. The food on the Prima was the best we have had on 30+ cruises. Sorry about your loud neighbors.
