We always enjoy Norwegian! The Sun is a smaller older ship but she’s very well maintained and super easy to navigate. Our balcony was spacious with lots of storage. Plenty for a 15 day cruise for two people. The entire staff was accommodating and welcoming as usual.
Embarkation

Literally the fastest and most streamlined embarkation we have ever experienced! From walking into the terminal to stepping onto the boat couldn’t have been more than 20 minutes total. Very well organized.

Always fun! Great seafood too.
Moderno Churrascaria

Wonderful salad bar. I could eat the salad bar here every day for lunch! Wish that was an option! We ate here twice. The first time was fantastic, all the red meats were rare/medium rare just like we like. It was the very best lamb I’ve ever had anywhere. Second time wasn’t as good. The meats were medium/medium well and the service was slower. It was still good but our first experience was definitely better all around.
Los Lobos Cantina

Very good spicy margaritas!
Le Bistro
5 out of 5
We love Le Bistro! The food at Le Bistro is amazing on every NCL ship I’ve ever sailed on. We love the escargot and the dark chocolate dessert. In my opinion it’s one of the best meals you can get onboard, and the atmosphere is really nice.

Great place to sit and enjoy sunrises. I love this outdoor space.
Garden Cafe

Limited options and small buffet on this ship, but it was fine. About what you’d expect quality wise. The made to order omelets in the morning were wonderful. We ate them most mornings.
Four Seasons Dining Room

Food and service were both good.
Cagney's Steakhouse
5 out of 5
Cagney’s never disappoints. We ate here twice. I had the 8 oz filet both times and my husband had prime rib once and the 8 oz filet the other time. Both times everything was grilled to perfection.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Really the only onboard activities we did were the behind the scenes tour and wine tasting. We enjoyed both. They were included for platinum and above so we took advantage of that. Behind the scenes was very interesting!
Entertainment

Gen Maldonado was amazing. Really a top notch artist! And very funny. Rock you tonight was good, as was the cabaret. Comedians were funny and the hypnotist was interesting and funny. My husband was one that went on stage and got hypnotized… jeez I wish I could’ve videoed that! Really funny.
Service and Staff

Everyone was pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Exactly what we’ve come to expect from NCL. Very good.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
We’ve been on the huge ships and we’ve been on the smaller ships and have enjoyed them all. I really like the layout of this ship. It’s easy to navigate and not overwhelming.
Cabin / Stateroom

Lots of storage. Great location near elevators and stairs. Shower was small (as expected) but so much pressure and plenty of hot water.
Ship tip
Book specialty dining before you board if possible because venues fill up fast, especially Cagney’s. Also, bring binoculars! Always cool stuff to see as you sail.
We had so much fun here! Took a city bus for $2 out to the glacier. We had to walk about a mile and a half from the bus stop to the glacier but it was a beautiful day and an easy walk! Also hiked down to the falls which were gorgeous. A great and inexpensive day and we got a lot of steps in!
All I can say is wow! The view from our balcony was incredible. It was a foggy and rainy day but that didn’t take away from the day at all. Saw mountain goats, seals, and otters. Very cool day!
Interesting city. Great city bus that’s inexpensive and easy to navigate. Granville market is a great place to shop and have lunch. Huge homeless population in some parts of the city. The area around Granville is very nice to walk around. Super tourist friendly.
We did the Deadliest Catch crab boat excursion and booked through shipmate. It was INCREDIBLE! Truly amazing. The crew of the Aleutian Ballad is very entertaining and informative.
We took the train ride up to white pass and it was absolutely breathtaking! Very informative too. Had a couple beers at a bar called Happy Ending afterwards. Neat little place. Good selection of local beers.
We went to Pearl Harbor. Truly amazing. Very somber and super informative. The Arizona and the walking tour are must dos. So much to learn. They do a very good job of recreating the day through the words of survivors. We always have had a huge appreciation for the our military but we left with a renewed sense of gratitude for the sacrifices our soldiers make all over the world.
