This was my third Transatlantic cruise - and it would've been great like the other two - if we, along with hundreds of other passengers didn't get sick due to Norwegian's neglect and lack of planning regarding the embarkation process. That destroyed the last week of the cruise for us.

Lower your expectations and you can still enjoy yourself. Especially meeting other passengers. The food and entertainment on the Star were not that entertaining.

I fell in love with this cruise almost immediately. It was so much fun and I met so many good friends from different countries who i still talk to today!

The ship itself was nice, clean, and comfortable, and the itinerary (Venice, Dubrovnik, Athens, Santorini, Olympia, and Rome) was beautiful. However, I was a bit disappointed by the entertainment staff. It was Halloween and I was expecting costumes and partying, etc., but they made it formal night and a table of carved pumpkins was really the only Halloween festivity. They also did not have enough planned for sea days, i.e. trivia. I imagine the food was great for the average meat eater, but if you are a vegetarian, your choices were salad or Indian food. Indian all through the buffet, too, every single night. The pasta station wasn't bad, and I pretty much survived on the pub fare at O'Sheehan's, where we met our favorite crew member, Joe. The atrium band was really good, very talented, but the majority of their songs were 50s-60s. I enjoyed most of it, but I was hoping for something a little more modern or at least a mix. The solo singer/guitarist was awesome, but most of his song choices were not quite so awesome, but rather sleepy. Just my opinion. I enjoyed this cruise for the most part and was just let down by things I've experienced differently on past cruises. I very much enjoyed my last NCL cruise and would absolutely sail with them again.

We were on our honeymoon and despite letting them know prior, didn’t get much special attention. Two mornings of the 7 days cruise, there was construction being done on the balcony below us, which woke us each morning at 8am rather loudly. Once we complained, they offered us a free dinner at a specialty restaurant, which was the best meal we had on board. I expected the food to be better at the regular eating areas, given how much one pays for the cruise to begin with - but was disappointed by the food offered and the fact that you had to pay more for better food. I more than likely won’t cruise with Norwegian again - very disappointed.

I had a great time on the Adriatic cruise out of Venice. The staff were very friendly and helpful (If you're good to them, they are good to you! They work hard!)

The ship is small and the staff very cold and dry not friendly. I would not recommend this Ship to anybody It is old and needs a major overhaul. Some of our friends in that group have a cruise scheduled for December out of Los Angeles try to cancel but could not unless they pay a fee of $ 2,000.00 for the change

Positive takeaways include friendly bar staff, ability to set your own schedule and the entertainment. The food was the biggest letdown for me, even though we bought the speciality dining. We never had lobster, escargot was served in brown gravy on top of a biscuit and the prime rib was flavorless. Desserts were completely unremarkable and the small buffet reminded me of Golden Corral. Moderno was the best food we ate on board. If eating gourmet food is one of your loves of cruising, avoid NCL. However, we saved a ton of money by not having to buy a drink package, as NCL included unlimited alcohol as a bonus. Service desk employees were rude and we never even met our room steward. If it weren’t for an awesome staff at O’Sheehans and the incredible ports, I would give this cruise only 2 or 3 stars.

Venice to Greece 07/10/17 This ship is smaller than what we are used to sailing on. Because of the limited space the entertainment on offer is limited and tends to become repetitive. This ship is good for a five day cruise but seven days is just too long. The staff are courteous and helpful at all times and the food was pretty good. The ship visited Venice, Dubrovnik, Kotor, Katakolon, Athens and Split and we found this to be a good itinerary. But now the bad part and it was very bad. On the last morning of the cruise the boat was unable to dock because of foggy conditions. This was not the fault of the cruise line and they performed well in getting the ship docked at the first available opportunity. But by this time the ship was six hours behind schedule and a vast number of people had missed their flights and were stranded. Disembarkation was then chaotic as people scrambled to meet their flights and the disembarkation process failed to meet their needs. On trying to leave the ship disembarkation was halted on a number of occasions leading to further chaos. If we followed the poor advice of staff we would have missed our flight with no prospect of getting another. We made it to our flight with minutes to spare. STRESSFUL STRESSFUL DAY.

Cruise was wonderful. We had never been to Europe , so this was a great way to see many countries. Overall our experience was great , no issues at all.

Would not do it again - been there done that. The food on the ship was very average, the Shore Excursion Department should seriously review their excursions.

Wonderful cruise with friends with Kotor and Mykonos being highlights. We had a special offer with drinks package included otherwise drinks are expensive (e.g. $10.75 plus 18% for cocktails). The separate drinks package is now $108 per person per day with all cabin occupants having to pay

In general I am NOT a fan of cruising but my friends are. I did enjoy myself as most days we were in port and had excursions. The entertainment on board exceeded my expectations. The shows were very good.

We chose NCL cruise out of Venice as it was perfect for our schedule and we thought the itinerary was quite interesting. Even though things weren't perfect during this 7-day cruise (are they ever, though? :)) and I was rather disappointed with our interconnected staterooms situation, overall, we had very good times both on and off the ship.

Our first Norwegian, and VERY disappointing, which was surprising based on other friends experiences with NCL. We have done Carnival and MSC, and NCL places a very distant 3rd.

my first cruise with NCL Star. Everything was amazing, food especially, lot of things to do, very beautiful ship, all the staff was very pro and kind, you feel very pampered. Surely a great experience! I cant look forward for my next cruise in december! NCL forever! 😍

We had a fabulous time! Our ports of calls were beautiful. I missed Kotor, sinse they changed it to Bar. We left Venice later sinse it was a reggatta on the canals. (Not the cruise company's fault) Weather was perfect, sea was smooth as mirror . We always found food to our likings. Washy-washy at dining rooms to prevent spreading germs. Our Captain was very informative at port arrivals and always on time! That was our second time with Norvegian cruise line and we would go again with them without hesitation !
