Review summary

Would not do it again - been there done that. The food on the ship was very average, the Shore Excursion Department should seriously review their excursions.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Went reasonably to time. Was not given a map of the ship by check in staff

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food in the Market Cafe was below average and that has put us off sailing with NCL again. The food in the Versailles restaurant was nothing to write home about. The best food we had was in the Tempanyaki restaurant - was extremely good. The drinks were good, nice cocktails and a good selection of wines.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pool was cold, not the advertised 28 degrees on the info channel on the TV. The live music around the ship by the various performers was ok.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Didn't bother with the stage shows, see previous comment re other performers.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Room Steward was excellent, other staff were ok. The Hotel Director was very engaging and genuinely interested in our discussions. Bar staff were good

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Layout was ok. It was a little confusing to get to the Versailles restaurant, having to go to deck 7 then down stairs to deck 6 for the entry to the restaurant. The freestyle dining was a problem having to line up the having to wait for up to an hour for a table. This must be usual as we and all others were provided with a drink voucher while we waited. Perhaps set times or booking times may be a better system.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Initially thought the cabin was small but we were able to get organised and comfortable. Stored our suitcases under the bed which is where the spare sheets, blankets etc were stored. The bathroom was small, having to leave the door open to use the toilet. Would be more room if the wall between the toilet and rest of the bathroom was removed.

Ship tip

Don't do it.

Ports of call

Venice, Italy

5 out of 5
Loved Venice before we got on the ship. Did not do any of the ships excursions in Venice.

Kotor, Montenegro

3 out of 5
Not been here before, found it interesting. We did the Montenegrin Village Life & Kotor Tour. People were concerned about the snake slithering between their feet at lunch on the farm.

Corfu, Greece

3 out of 5
Did the Scenic Corfu & Island Views Tour. This was a bit boring and we did not go to the Koum Kouat distillery as advertised which was a shame as I was looking forward to it.

Santorini, Greece

5 out of 5
Did the Greek Style Cekebration. This was a long day but a good day. Very crowded but interesting. The restaurant was good and as was the food.

Mykonos, Greece

2 out of 5
Scenic Views of Mykonos Tour. Drinking ouzo at 9:00am was a struggle. The beaches were boring.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

4 out of 5
Dubrovnik Village and Wine Tasting Tour. This was the best of all the tours on the cruise. Food and wine were good, and the farm visit was excellent.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It was very quick and easy.
