Review summary

Our first Norwegian, and VERY disappointing, which was surprising based on other friends experiences with NCL. We have done Carnival and MSC, and NCL places a very distant 3rd.

Food was inconsistent at best. Returned soup for being too cold, beef teriyaki was dry and horrible. Service in all places was lacking.

Poor use of space. Beds were HORRIBLE. Bedding and sheets were 20 years old, thin, stained. Pathetic.

Yea I am pretty reluctant to try NCL again because of the star. Saying that we still had an absolutely brilliant time .but glad it wasn’t my first cruise .

its the ship! we hated the ncl star for many reasons. Dont write off NCL the Getaway we loved. if i had done the star first it would have been the last ncl cruise we would have taken

We have only tried three cruise lines... our favorite is Princess, then Carnival and then NCL. But that is just our personal preference... and have enjoyed all of our cruises.

I was in the star and wouldn’t recommend it either. Saying that I loved the piano bar but I felt like it was like a holiday camp and you couldn’t get away from people smoking behind you right at the pool and that’s if you were lucky enough to get a lounger. I also noticed the toilets were always blocked and bins over flowing in the toilets . While different experience from Rccl .
