Review summary

Good cruise ports. Was not crazy about the overall experience on the ship. I think you can find a much better experience for the cost of this cruise.

Embarkation

Went smoothly, high security which was good. A little weird when they ask for your pass ports before boarding and you don't get them back till the end of the cruise

Food and Dining

Food in the regular dining rooms was just OK. The Brazilian Steak house was not worth the extra charge. The La Bistro restaurant was one of the best restaurants we have ever eaten at and the service was exceptional. We did this one the last night, if we Han done it earlier we would have eaten there a couple of times. The waiters in the regular dining areas were all like robots. Other than one bartender (Elizabeth) and our room Stewart you could not find another employee who wanted to be there.

Up early running around all day so it was dinner drinks and bef

I can tell you that the Two times we were on lounge chairs on the deck we never saw a server. Lounge chairs were scares and the small pool so packed you would not even want to attempt it. Other than the 2 employees I mentioned the service was "functional"

Cabin was a nice size and nice balcony

Ship tip

I would look at some other cruise lines. Even with the drink package they buckle and dime you on bottles of water, drinks that were not even top shelf. It would be like an additional 2.00 but they would clearly tell you in front of everyone this is not part of your package.

It was great to see the Acropolis but Athens is just a graffiti ridden city. Not my favorite. Acropolis was very cool but so many people made it more a chore than an excursion

Very organized and fluid. No issues and lots of cabs when you get off the ship. 45 euros to the airport

When I cruised Greece in 2011 on Celebrity they also held you passport during the cruise. I wounder what would happen if you get stranded in port and do not have your passport? The ship did give people a xerox of passport if that was all the ID they were traveling with. I agree to go to other lines. NCL IMHO is bottom of the barrel of cruise lines and the Star is the worst ship I have ever been on.
