We were on our honeymoon and despite letting them know prior, didn’t get much special attention. Two mornings of the 7 days cruise, there was construction being done on the balcony below us, which woke us each morning at 8am rather loudly. Once we complained, they offered us a free dinner at a specialty restaurant, which was the best meal we had on board. I expected the food to be better at the regular eating areas, given how much one pays for the cruise to begin with - but was disappointed by the food offered and the fact that you had to pay more for better food. I more than likely won’t cruise with Norwegian again - very disappointed.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Embarkation was quick and easy, good experience.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Unless you are willing to pay more for the speciality restaurants, the food really isn’t very good. Very bland, not a super amount of variety, and the dining rooms (Aqua and Versailles) are both very dated.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Karaoke is a ton of fun, pools are small but serve their purpose. Arcade is small but fun. Casino is decent if you want to gamble.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Shows were subpar, the onboard cruise band was eh, performers were alright, good dancers. The folks running karaoke had better voices than some in the actual shows...
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
Waiters were unattentive in regular eating areas (better in specialty restaurants - again, if you pay more, you get better service). Room steward was fantastic!!
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Ship was a little dated, but comfortable bed and cabin.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Comfortable bed, clean cabin.
Ship tip
Do karaoke. Know good options aren’t great unless you pay for specialty restaurants, staff isn’t always welcoming or super nice. Know that getting off the boat and eating in ports is your best option.
Did you purchase a honeymoon decoration package? We went with NCL in Oct. Three of the 4 couples were celebrating their anniversary. They made it very special!
