Review summary

Loved the itinerary, but very busy (no at sea days to relax). Hard to travel so far and not see everything you possibly can! Such beautiful ports.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Embarkation was not bad, but not sure what the point is to picking a time slot, that didn’t seam to matter at all, you just had to stand in line and wait.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Only one main dining room was open on our cruise. Since the ship was only sailing at about 50%, no need to open the other room. The servers and bartenders were fantastic, and clearly happy to have guests back on board. No complaints about any of the food we had. Ate in Versailles, O’Sheehans, Noodles and the French Bistro. Grabbed a light snack from the buffet one afternoon.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Only made it one show. Sine the itinerary had a new port every day, we did not stay out late since so many of the tours had early start times. By the time we finished with dinner, the show was either over, or partway thru. I normally love exploring the ship and enjoying everything that is offered. Not with this itinerary. We are in this same ship again later this fall, so it will be like a new ship. Lol

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service and staff were excellent. Clearly happy to have guests back on board.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was very clean, well kept for a slightly older ship. Nice additions and updates.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Slightly small, but huge window helps with that. Some of the best storage for a cruise cabin. Bathroom sink area is tight, and lacks storage. Toilet is in a separate area which is nice. Shower is fine, just lacks a foot prop for leg shaving. 😊

Ship tip

Book specialty dining early.

Ports of call

Kotor, Montenegro

This is a must see spot. Got up early to watch coming into this port, like no other port I have ever seen. Absolutely beautiful. Takes about 2 hours to get back into the port, and beautiful views everywhere you look! Did not get up early enough to see the submarine caves, but spotted some on the way out. The town was lovey as well, charming and easy to walk around in. This is a place I would consider going back to visit again.

Disembarkation

Had issues we the transfer ( we said we had purchased then, they didn’t have that info), after getting this issue cleared up ( which took a couple of days) we were stuck with the first group off. Not what we wanted, but left with no other choice. After that, getting off was super easy. We took a transfer to the Venice airport. We stayed two night in Venice, but made our own hotel arrangements, and transportation from the airport to the hotel.

Good review! I’ve also done an itinerary-heavy cruise on the Star and had to skip big organised excursions at some ports or I think I would have collapsed with exhaustion! Great ship though, not big and fancy but a great party atmosphere, and if the shows still include the sisters who play the violin they are amazing!
