Review summary

Our oldest daughter (24) and her boyfriend came with our youngest son (6), my husband and I. Ot was a nice relaxing cruise. They removed the water slides for more hot tubs which was unfortunate. The ship isn't over packed, and is smaller in the fleet but still nice. We enjoyed it, minus the slides being gone.

Embarkation

Smooth, went really fast!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining room was pretty good 1 night we were disappointed. Cagney's and tempanaki were fantastic!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
They took put water slides for more hot tubs. That was stupid. There's only 1 main pool and no kids pool.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
The epics providers were much better. Our son only went twice which was disappointing. We book through Norwegian because their child care has always been fantastic. We actually tipped each person on the Epic extra last time, needless to say we couldn't this time.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room steward was sweet but what happened to towel animals? Leo on the Lido deck was amazing! Easily one of the best servers on the ship! We also loved chef Rey in tempinaki was awesome also!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It's a nice smaller ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was spotless and comfortable. Not huge but we don't cruise for the room.

Ship tip

There's limited activity on this ship.

Ports of call

Venice, Italy

5 out of 5

Corfu, Greece

3 out of 5
It's a smaller island dont over pay for excursions here. We'd been before so we knew not to.

Santorini, Greece

4 out of 5
It's beautiful we did the volcano climb and hot springs. They're warmer not hot and will stain a light bathing suit. The donkey poop on the way down is a challenge.

Mykonos, Greece

4 out of 5
See the windmills! It's also a smaller island but nice.

Argostoli, Kefalonia, Greece

4 out of 5
Beautiful water!

Dubrovnik, Croatia

5 out of 5
This was our favorite even though it poured down rain for 2 hours. Stunningly beautiful!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy very fast

Thanks for taking the time to share your review of the Norwegian Star. Glad you had a great cruise on the smaller and cozy NCL Star.

The NLC Star, like the NCL Dawn, and other member ships of the NCL Dawn Class are indeed very nice, but smaller ships, w/o a lot of the over the top amenities that come with the newer ships. These sized ships are actually preferred by my wife and I for us taking cruises, because for us the cruise is about seeing the destinations (ports of call) we are sailing to. We are not interested at all in the Megaships where the cruise becomes all about the ship itself being the destination. Just like yours, NCL/Norwegian Star has gotten mostly nothing but really good reviews with this particular Adriatic/Greek Isles Cruise itinerary this season. So much so in-fact, that my spouse and I just booked your very same cruise on the NCL Dawn for next year's season.
