We really had an excellent time as a family spending time together. There wasn't too much to do at each port. The ports were beautiful and some people may be able to find many activities that they enjoy. Some might enjoy looking at old forts and churches. We enjoyed how beautiful and unique each port was.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We had a long, hot walk from where the people mover dropped us off. I'm not sure if they provide a bus that we didn't see but they should.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food was pretty good on board. My son did have steak Diane which he felt was overcooked. We ate at Cagneys and everyone loved their steaks. The service could be slow at times, but it looked like everyone was busy working.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We didn't go to any of the shows. We did go to the Bliss lounge for their nightly parties and DJs. We liked the 80s party. The videos and music was fun. The new H2O area is nice. There is plenty of room and a bar is nearby and it's quiet. We did go to the casino and lost money. We did play Deal or No Deal which you really don't have a good chance of winning anything. It was a waste of $25 a card.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We liked what we did and at night we did pretty much everything except the show. The singers were OK in the Atrium, but not our favorites. We liked the DJ and the main band that played.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff all seemed eager to please and very friendly.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was always clean. Sometimes at night the bathrooms would be clogged. Not sure if that's the fault of the passengers or that they need to check them more often.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We paid for a guaranteed balcony cabin. We were give a handicap cabin. I called to tell them no-one was handicapped and they told us it was OK and we'd be switched if they needed to. The cabin was great. It was a nice size for my 23 and 25 year olds. One slept in the pullout bunk. We loved having the balcony and being able to see some of the beautiful ports as we arrived.
Ship tip
The best thing was he Ultimate beverage package. It was nice going to dinner and getting a couple of glasses of wine and not worrying about how much it will cost.
We arrived the morning before. We loved going to St. Mark's Square and seeing all of the sights along the way. We got up early to get to the boat. It still took us about an hour even though I thought we were staying nearby.
There wasn't too much to do here. We walked around looked at a few shops and then my kids walked up the mountain. They said it was a little difficult and they are both in shape. I went back to the ship. I was glad they did it so they'd have something to do in port.
We did a the wine and Oia trip offered but NCL. We had to wait about an hour in the Stardust theater until out group was called to board our tender. We went to a winery. You only have 30 minutes there. They don't tell you anything about wine or the wine making process. You can have three glasses and they had some cheese and cracker and olives. They also had a gift shop to buy their wine. We then went to Oia and had about 1hour and 30 minutes. We walked around and shopped. It is a beautiful city. Then back on the bus and you are dropped in Fira where the cable cars are. We had about two hours here. We were able to shop and eat a dinner and watch the sunset. As long as you are in line for the cable cars by 9 the ship won't leave you. There is a long line so it did make us feel better knowing that.
We took a bus to Platys Gyalos beach. You can 10 euros per person for a chair and umbrella. We knew we'd only be there for about an hour so we went down to the far end where you could sit on a towel. The water is beautiful. There is a little market to get drinks and snacks along the beach. We took the bus back and saw Little Venice with the windmills.
We got off of the ship at 7. We ubered into town which was cheaper and faster. We walked the walls. It wasn't crowded because we were there when they opened. We also did a tour. We met near the fountain and the tour person had a red umbrella. It was at 10:00. It was very interesting and informative. She took us to see many different parts of the city and was able to tell us many interesting things about it.
