Review summary

Do another Ship. The Star is riddled with issues. We had a long "listing" event that scared even the staff that thought we were tipping over! The pool emptied out all over the deck flooding the 12 floor, and spilling water falls down to the 11th level. Things slid off the tables everywhere. The Capt. claimed it was human error, but I've rtead that the Star's stabilizers are defective and always needing repairs.

Embarkation

Slow & painful.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Cagney's was great. Others were so-so. Wife got food-poisoning at O'Sheehans.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Forget the pool area.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Most shows were good, but the theaters' seats were horribly uncomfortable.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
most were freindly, but couldn't answer simple questions. We heard this ship is a "training" ship. Room steward "Roberto" was great.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
pool area was horrible with the 2 big slides taking up HALF the deck (and they were always closed!).

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
A little worn but Good. Pillows smelled like someone's rear.

Ship tip

Don't.

A nightmare- NCL transfers to FTL was chaotic & slow. Took 2 hours to leave the terminal on bus.

Sailed the Star abut a year ago. All was great. I've discovered when your sailing the open ocean thing happen.

Star will be in dry dock May 6. It’s next cruise leaves May 24. So hopefully these issues will be addressed. Found the dry dock info on cruise critic.

Surely if there was a problem with stabilisers the captain would report it. The passengers safety got to be priority. On the Star in August, hopefully this was an isolated incident

Was just on the star at the end of March 2018 And it was such a nice smooth sailing. Sorry to hear your experience was less than ideal
