Review summary

Overall we enjoyed ourselves. Parts of this cruise were superb. There were a few problems with the ship, and we felt the ship was a little tired. As this was our first ever cruise, we did not know what to expect. The experience did not put us off cruising but we are not rushing to book another cruise either.

Embarkation

Stood in a line for an hr and 45 mins.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Buffet was average. Main dining rooms good although you often had to wait for a table. Speciality restaurants were superb.

Onboard Activities

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our ship steward was fantastic. Lovely guy and very efficient. The staff in the speciality restsurants were superb. The service everywhere else was a hit or a miss. Sometimes, it was superb and sometimes not so good.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
On the whole the ship was clean. Our room and bathroom were clean. The main areas and restaurants were very clean. The public toilets on the other hand were not clean. Often the floor was wet, often blocked and at least one cubicle in each plane was out of order.

Cabin / Stateroom

This was a good size. Lots of storage, very clean and the balcony was a good size. The only problem was were the main closet was. It was awkward to get into but it had plenty of storage space in it.

Really liked this port. We went to La Caletas hideaway. This was excellent. The staff on the boat to the island were superb and very entertaining. The buffet lunch on the island was fantastic. Loved the whole area and the beach was great.

Mazatlan, Mexico

This was our favourite. We did the Shrimp Fest. I would highly recommend this. It was at this woman’s own house. She was very welcoming and very informative. The gardens were gorgeous as was the eating area and the pool. The margaritas were flowing and delicious. The food was amazing especially the coconut shrimp and the guacamole. There was a guy playing the saxaphone and the views were amazing. It was the least commercial excursion and we loved it.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Lovely place. Here we did the camel ride on the beach with lunch. This was a lot of fun and our tour guide was funny and knew lots of facts. However, due to problems getting off the ship, our tour started late so we were rushed at the end. Instead of getting an hr to eat their delicious lunch we were rushed and only got 15 mins. This of course was not their fault but was a little disappointing for us.

Disembarkation

Again stood in long line to get off the ship. However, our cases were easy to access at the end.
