We very much enjoyed our cruise on the NCL Star.   We had a mini suite that worked well, the food was very good (a few exceptions), the staff was very friendly, the shows were good (but not excellent), the ship was a nice size, and the ports of call were all great.   We had an issue with very slow tender service in Roatan which took us 3 hours to get off the ship and over an hour wait inline to board a tender back.  Also, since must people had the Ultimate Beverage Package, NCL had very few, none by the pools, waiters  walking around pushing drinks, so we had to stand in line each time we wanted a drink (some lines were short, others long).   Embarkation and De-embarkation was smooth and fast.   I love the Port of Tampa.   I would recommend this cruise.

Food and Dining

Overall the food was good. Had to get a refund for a lobster I paid an extra $20 for as it was mush. Also, the service was very slow in come of the specialty restaurants. Don't buy them unless you got the package.

Onboard Activities

We did not do many of these.

Best looking performers at Sea, good shows, but would have preferred more "fun" type of shows.

Children's Programs

Did not use.

Service and Staff

We had one issue with our a/c, it was fixed and we were given a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries, a nice touch.

We had a great cabin.

Ship Tip

Expect lines to get a drink, very few waiters pushing drinks since most people have the ultimate beverage package. Get your tender tickets early as wait times are the worst we have seen. The staff is friendly, be nice to them, they work hard.

Stayed the night before the cruise at Sailport. Use priceline for a great deal, would want to stay there again. Loved the port of Tampa. If you have extra time to burn before your return flight, there is a lot to do around the port, The Florida Acquire, Street Car, shopping strip, WWII ship to tour, all within easy walking distance. They store your bags.

Had a great time here on the zip line and beach, but it was cut short due to the slow tender service.

Not much there expect pushy sales people. There is a swim up bar we used.

Seems every ship stops here. We rented a cheap that was really in bad working shape. Someone we talked to also rented a jeep and they were stopped by want looked like police and then robbed of tall their money. Stay in town by the crowds.
