Review summary

We have been to this same set of ports last year on Carnival. We cruise at least once or twice each year and enjoy the peace and quiet on our aft balcony while we sail from port to port. This year was much like that. We had a very restful time together. NCL has open seating so we never sat with others at a dinner or lunch. All staff were friendly. The food was good. Our one issue at the time of boarding was the $15 per bottle for two bottles of wine we were bringing to enjoy on our balcony. This was a surprise and not a fee we have faced in the past on any ship.

Cabin was clean but dusty and the toilet was not clean where the lid and seat met. Old dirt collected. I did not see glasses on the cleaning cart so I expect glasses were wiped out and put back on the shelf in the room without being washed.

Ship tip

Know they will charge you for wine you do not drink in the dining room.

Debi and Bob have a storefront for local teens to produce and sell hand-made items. Leave the port and walk one block right on Main street to Made-in-Roatan. It is worth the 5 minute walk.

This is the one port a tender is used to go to shore. The wait is long and the shopping off the port shops is limited. You can walk a block outside the port area to the left and find local art work.
