Review summary
NCL may have invented freestyle cruising, but not everything is free! The fares may be very competitive, but once you begin to add up all the extra charges for the specialty restaurants it becomes pricey. I would rather have a choice of restaurants and pay a little more in the overall cabin price, then be nickel & dimed to death. As for entertainment, there were very few shows on board my sailing. And because of an outbreak of "the virus" there was no self service and lots of service people standing at each and every restaurant and in every elevator and public space with antibacterial spray. Does not give one a good feeling. Consequently to get a cup of coffee in the morning meant standing on line. This was NOT a holiday sailing and even so, it was a long wait. The buffet was horrible. It was really a cafeteria. Went once and never went back.Ports of call
Pros: The itinerary
Cons: Extra charges
Recommends Norwegian Star? No.
