Review summary

The ship was beautiful and very well maintained. It's crew were among some of the best I've encountered. They took hygiene to an extreme level, but was very appreciated. The dining crew are to be especially commended. The cuisine was excellent, as would be expected. But, the preparation and presentation were superb! Great Job, NCL. The entertainment was also top notch. Great performers and very personable. The "Star" crew should also be commended for their diligence with the kids programs and facilities. My five year old couldn't wait to get back to "the school" and get involved in the many activities that were available. All of these made this of the best we've taken. If only we had made it to the last port of call, Cabo San Lucas. It was the right thing to do, assisting another ship in distress, causing us to miss our last port. I should think that the passengers would see some type of financial compensation, as a result. At least a refund on the port charges and taxes that NCL didn't have to pay to Cabo. But, no mention of any. Disappointing!

good utilization of space available. Beds need to be of better quality.

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

The locals were nicer at this port. Definitely enjoyed 'old town', and it's many shops.

Acapulco, Mexico

The beaches are wonderful. Beware of the vendors who are either hard of hearing or don't understand the universal word "NO".

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

I chose "excellent", as it's what I've heard. Only saw this port from the promenade deck as we sailed by. Saving a distressed freighter in the middle of the night before, prevented us from actually stopping at this port.

Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa, Mexico

Weather was so bad we never left the ship.

Pros: The Norwegian Star and it's crew.

Cons: Not making it to every port and the weather.
