Norwegian Star

7 Night Alaska & Sawyer Glacier (Seattle Roundtrip)

Sail date: July 14, 2007

Ship: Norwegian Star

Cabin type: Suite

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 17 years ago

Review summary

Ship was in good condition. Need much better ventilation for the casino. Food was below average. Always served cold. The only hot food on the ship was the hamburger grill by the pool. Staff was pushy and unaware of surroundings and passengers. They were repeatedly walking into and disturbing passengers.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Cold, cold, cold - food service on this ship was terrible.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
At the buffet style restaurants, the staff members were terrible. Always in the way and not helpful. Several times we had to stop them from spraying down the table we were at or next to us with disinfectant. We were eating and that stuff was everywhere.

Cabin / Stateroom

Loved the mini-suite. Only way to go.

Juneau, Alaska

Pros: Great ports and loved the free style cruising

Cons: Food was made way too far ahead - breakfast, lunch or dinner - always ice cold!
