This is a nice ship. The remodel of this ship is impressive and the Spiniker observation lounge is perfect for the New Zealand cruise. Our cruise missed Duneid due to bad weather and it was a HUGE disappointment. Staff on this ship is the only problem.
Not the best cruise I’ve ever taken. The customer service staff were unkind, rude, and unhelpful (with the exception of Otto). Never even saw our cabin steward.

The lady checking us in screwed up our accounts. Putting my mother under my ship card and myself on my mother’s. This caused numerous problems screwing up dinning, shore excursions, internet packages, and so much more. See if Otto still works in customer service because he saved our entire cruise by going through and fixing all of these issues. He was fantastic!

Food and Dining

Buffet dinning on this ship has limited options. Breakfast in the dinning room is superior to buffet breakfast. After a few days we were tired of ship food. Dinning room food was ok but service in Taste by Richard was amazing! Best waiter on the ship!

The big show at the end of the cruise was a total disappointment! It was just weird, disjointed, and awful! Dancing was fantastic but no real music or singing and the illusionist acts mixed into the show was strange. The country music show was far more entertaining. Norwegian is doing away with Broadway musicals and going to this poorly planned style of show. Bring back the musicals!!

A juggler?!? Really? And the big bill show at the end of the cruise was a disjointed mess. Best show was the country music show Blazing Boots. Skip the Elements show because honestly it was awful. Everyone on ship was disappointed.
Service and Staff

My husband was sick on the ship. He caught whatever on the ship because everyone had a cough so eventually we got it too. He goes to customer service to cancel a shore excursion and the Brazilian customer service agent says “well yes you are obviously sick but we can’t cancel your excursion without a $200 visit to the ship doctor.” So my husband who is terribly ill says “that’s extortion” and this lady threatens to call security so he just tells her she’s ridiculous and walks away. Next day he’s asleep in bed sick as all hell and security shows up at our door. Drags him out of our room and upstairs to “discuss” his behavior. He’s running a fever, coughing nonstop, and this ship is exposing him to everyone on board and offering him absolutely nothing in the way of healthcare because some customer service rep.’s feelings were hurt because he called her ridiculous? This ship and their staff are ridiculous!

Cabin / Stateroom

We had a balcony cabin and the cabin is small. Probably the smallest cabin we have ever had. The bathroom was tiny and a wall between the sink and toilet made it even smaller.
Ship tip
Norwegian lost us as customers on this cruise. The ship was full of sick people and we were quickly among them. The staff was butt hurt cry babies that offered no real help and when you got upset over their inability to assist you they call security to threaten you and accuse you of things you never did.
The Spirit only had 3 tours for this port. 3 yours for 3,000 people seems….. off. Wanted to see some of the geothermal (Yellowstone) attractions but all those tours were cancelled by the ship. Huge disappointment and hopefully the 90 people that got to go on shore excursions had fun. The rest of us were left high and dry.
Only tour available once on ship was a trip to the National Aquarium. It wasn’t bad but the Aquarium is very small. There are city aquariums in the states that are larger. Skip the aquarium and go see something else.
