Traveled with my wife and sister on a bucket list item that we will cherish forever. We took a suite and the service we received was beyond anything ever expected. Rodney, concierge, anticipated our every need, he was wherever we needed him to be. Kat, butler, kept us stocked with snacks, beverages, and a level of attention we had never thought would feel good. The secret to NCL's free style is hidden in its staff. They are the best, and that is why we come back!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We were treated like royalty, everyone learned our names and moved us along quickly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
More than enough at every venue, and excellent food and choices. We used MDR and specialty, not buffet.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We love the trivia.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Diverse and well done. Had one rough sea day aerial act was concerned, instead of no entertainment Carlos (cruise director) switched the comedian to the main theater to accomodate more people.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
NCL does one thing better than any other cruise line, train their staff about customer service. The staff on this ship were outstanding, and made our trip exceptional!
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Clean and beautiful. Our one complaint is that we paid for a thermal suite and it was not to NCL's standards.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We were in an aft facing suite, what an experience! Loved the bathroom, this was the first time in 24 cruises that our bathroom in the suite was larger than ours at home, AND it had a window in the shower looking off the back of the ship. Plenty of room, and the service of Achmed, steward, Hat, butler, and Rodney, concierge, made this trip amazing.
Ship tip
Once in your cruise life find a way to travel in the Suite/ Haven, it is worth every penny.
Stayed two days before cruise, lovely city with much todo and great restaurants. Took an excursion to Waiheke tasting wine, olive oil, and gourmet foods.
Highlights pf Wellington was supposed to include trip up a mountain to a panoramic view, but there was an event on the mountain and our bus could not go. We took a cable car to another scenic overlook and a botanical garden, we also toured the city. Our driver was also the tour guide and he seemed like he was having a bad day. But the trip was fun.
City highlights and Puffing Billy Train. The city was like any other but the train ride and story were enjoyable. The volunteers taught about the determination of the people of Australia.
Devils and Roos. was more than we expected. Toured the country side, which was beautiful, then to an indigenous animal preserve We got to experience kangaroos up close. We fed them and petted them it was a memorable time. We could move to Tasmania if it weren't so expensive.
Scenic Villages was just that a scenic drive. We stopped in one village where we had coffee and met locals who were glad to talk about their town. In another village we had locally made ice cream. While the villages were nice it was meeting local people that made this trip.
We stayed two days after to experience in The Rocks. We walked around and took in the flavor of the area. We had High Tea, went to the Zoo, rode a ferry, ate some Kangaroo. Very enriching experience.
Wonderful itinerary. Appreciate your detailed and informative review, especially for the bathroom. Glad you thoroughly enjoyed your bucket list cruise.
