Review summary

This was our fifth cruise and first with NCL. We chose it because of the NYC departure and caribbean ports. Liked the "long" week plan and not having to waste a day traveling to Florida. However, six of the eight days were very rocky. The pool was closed twice because of the waves. GREAT for families, but we were a couple. Large families hogged the lounges saving many all day till the kids came from camp. That was not kept under control by the staff as it had been on the other two cruise lines that we have been with. Great facilities for kids. Entertainment was excellent. Staff very helpful and curtious. Food was disappointing overall. Buffet was limited. Main dining rooms menus limited too. Specialty restaurants better, but VERY small portions and limits of only one tiny main dish made it necessary to have desert or walk away hungary. It was good that we didn't over eat and gain too much weight.
